All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Acura TL, Acura TSX and Honda Accord (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The hitch has a gross load capacity of 2,000 lbs. trailer weight and 200 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower. Always follow your vehicle's specifications.

You will need: socket wrench with 10mm, 9/16", and 11/16" sockets; torque wrench; die grinder or rotary tool (for hole enlargement); and aviation shears (for heat shield trimming). A torque wrench is essential to achieve the correct fastener torque values.
The kit includes: 2× 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, 2× 7/16-14 × 1½" carriage bolts, 2× 0.250 × 1.00 × 2.50" square hole spacers (part CM-SP11), 2× 7/16" fishwire, 2× 3/8-16 hex flange nuts, and 1× 3/8-16 × 1.00 × 1.88" U-bolt. All fasteners are included; no additional hardware is required.
Yes. You must lower the exhaust by removing rubber isolators before installation. For single exhaust vehicles, remove 2 isolators; for dual exhaust vehicles, remove 4 isolators. After the hitch is installed and secured, raise the exhaust and reattach the isolators.
Yes. Remove the heat shield(s) by removing four screws per shield before installation. Save the screws and shields—you will reinstall them in Step 8 after the hitch is secured. The shields must then be trimmed around the hitch.
No drilling is required. However, you may need to enlarge the existing access holes in the frame rails using a die grinder or rotary tool if the carriage bolts and spacers cannot pass through. The manual states to enlarge the holes only if needed to allow fasteners to pass.
Yes. After reinstalling the heat shields, you must trim them around the hitch. The manual provides a heat shield trimming diagram showing the area to trim for Acura TL, Acura TSX, and Honda Accord. Use aviation shears for trimming.
Torque all 7/16" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) to 70 lb-ft. Torque all 3/8" hardware (U-bolt and hex flange nuts) to 45 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench to achieve these values.
1. Lower exhaust by removing rubber isolators. 2. Remove heat shield(s) by removing four screws per shield. 3. Enlarge access holes if needed using a die grinder. 4. Fishwire carriage bolts and spacers through access holes and out mounting holes. 5. Insert U-bolt through tow hook. 6. Raise hitch and secure with hex flange nuts. 7. Torque all fasteners (7/16" to 70 lb-ft, 3/8" to 45 lb-ft). 8. Reinstall and trim heat shields. 9. Raise exhaust and reattach isolators.
All non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. This applies to any load that is not a trailer.
Periodically check the hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection before towing is recommended.
Curt Manufacturing warrants the hitch to be free of defects in material and workmanship at the time of retail purchase by the original purchaser. If defective, Curt may repair or replace it when returned prepaid with proof of purchase. Warranty is voided by alteration, misuse, or improper installation. Curt's liability is limited to repair or replacement and excludes incidental or consequential loss or damage.
