This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Acura TSX and Honda Accord (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The hitch is designed for use with CURT ball mount D-55001 or 45501. Euro mount options are also available: part 45571 (1-7/8" ball) and part 45572 (2" ball). Hole enlargement is required for ball mount installation.
You will need: socket wrench, 10mm socket, 9/16" socket, 11/16" socket, torque wrench, die grinder or rotary tool (for hole enlargement), and aviation shears (for heat shield trimming). Safety glasses should be worn at all times during installation.

Yes. You must check if the carriage bolts and spacers can be inserted through the access holes in the frame rails. If not, enlarge the holes using a die grinder or rotary tool until the hardware can pass through. Hole enlargement is also required for ball mount installation.
Yes. Heat shield trimming is required. You must remove the heat shield(s) by removing four screws per shield, then trim them around the hitch using the provided trimming diagram (approximately 10 in. × 4.75 in.). Reinstall the trimmed heat shields with the original screws. Dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to trimming.
Yes. You must lower the exhaust by removing two rubber isolators for single exhaust vehicles or four isolators for dual exhaust vehicles. After installation is complete, raise the exhaust and reattach the rubber isolators.
Only if present on your vehicle. If an underbody panel is present, remove it and trim as needed (see underbody panel trim diagram). Save the panel and fasteners for reinstallation. You will need to raise the underbody panel with the hitch during installation and reach underneath it to torque the driver side bolt.
Torque all 7/16" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) to 70 ft-lbs. Torque all 3/8" hardware (U-bolt and hex flange nuts) to 45 ft-lbs. If an underbody panel is present, you will need to reach underneath it to torque the driver side bolt.
The kit includes: two 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, two 7/16-14 × 1.5" carriage bolts, two 0.250 × 1.00 × 2.50" square hole spacers (CM-SP11), two 7/16" fishwire, two HFN3816 hex flange nuts, and one 3/8-16 × 1.00 × 1.88" U-bolt. All fasteners are new and should not be reused from the vehicle.
Fishwire is a technique to route the 7/16-14 × 1.5" carriage bolts and CM-SP11 spacers through the access holes in the frame rails and out through the mounting holes. This allows you to position the bolts without direct access. The manual provides a fishwire technique diagram showing the proper routing method.
