Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Dodge Sprinter 2500 or 3500, Freightliner Sprinter 2500 or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 or 3500 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 7,500 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

The kit includes: 4 spacer plates (0.500" A-36 H.R., part CM-13375-SP), 8 serrated flange nuts 1/2"-13 UNC Grade 8 (part 20-00062), 2 round hole spacers 0.250" x 1.38" x 1.50" (part CM-SP25), 8 flat washers 1/2" (part 30-00133), and 8 hex head cap screws 1/2"-13 UNC Grade 8 (part 10-10294). The hitch side plates and frame mounting components are also included.

Yes. The manual specifies to lower the spare tire for ease of installation. After installation is complete, the spare tire should be reinstalled.
1. Lower the spare tire. 2. Remove the 6 existing bolts and nuts from the bumper mounting brackets (support the bumper to prevent falling). 3. Install 1/2" x 5" hex head bolts and 1/2" flat washers through the frame rail holes and out through the step bumper bracket holes. 4. Install the SP25 spacer over the upper forward-most bolt on each side, then install 2 spacer plates over the bolts on each side. 5. Raise the hitch and slide the side plates over the outside of the bumper mounting brackets, aligning the holes. 6. Push the remainder of each bolt through the hitch side plate holes. 7. Secure with 1/2" hex flange nuts. 8. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs. 9. Reinstall the spare tire.
Push the hex bolts back so the threaded portion is flush with the 1/2" spacer plates. This makes installation easier by allowing the spacer plates to slide over the bolts without obstruction.
The 6 existing bolts and nuts from the bumper mounting brackets are removed and returned to the owner. They are not reused in the hitch installation. New 1/2" x 5" hex head bolts are provided in the kit.
Install one SP25 spacer (0.250" x 1.38" x 1.50" round hole spacer) over the upper forward-most bolt on each side of the vehicle. These spacers are positioned before the larger 1/2" spacer plates.
Install 2 of the 0.500" A-36 H.R. spacer plates (part CM-13375-SP) over the bolts on each side of the vehicle, positioned after the SP25 spacers. The manual diagram shows their placement relative to the frame rail and bumper bracket.
The bolts are 1/2" x 5" hex head cap screws, Grade 8, part number 10-10294. They are torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
The nuts are 1/2"-13 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00062). Eight nuts are included in the kit.
The washers are 1/2" flat washers (part 30-00133). Eight washers are included in the kit.
The hitch weight is 60 lbs.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain safe operation and prevent loosening due to vibration during towing.
Curt Manufacturing warrants the product to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship at the time of retail purchase by the original purchaser. If defective, Curt may repair or replace the product at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase. The warranty is voided by alteration, misuse, or improper installation.
The manual does not require professional installation. It provides installation steps suitable for DIY installation. Professional installation is estimated at 30 minutes, while DIY (novice) installation is estimated at 60 minutes. However, you should support the bumper during removal to prevent it from falling, which may require an extra person or lifting equipment.
