This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Nissan Juke (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Required tools are: torque wrench, 3/4 inch socket, ratchet, pry bar, die grinder, and safety glasses. A die grinder is needed to enlarge the existing hole to 1 inch. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required.
Professional installation takes 29 minutes. Novice DIY installation takes 60 minutes. The manual notes that these times are for professional installers, and if you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, you should contact an authorized Curt installer for additional assistance.
Yes. The first installation step is to lower the vehicle exhaust by removing the rubber isolator from the muffler. After the hitch is secured, you must raise the exhaust back into position. If the exhaust hanger rod interferes with the side bracket, it may be necessary to bend the hanger rod slightly inboard.
No drilling is required. However, you must enlarge an existing hole under the frame rail to 1 inch using a die grinder. This enlargement is necessary to provide access to the attachment holes for fishwiring the carriage bolts.
Fishwiring is a technique using fishwire tools to thread the carriage bolts through the access hole and out through the mounting holes before raising the hitch into position. The manual includes two 1/2 inch fishwire tools in the parts list. This method allows you to position the bolts before securing the hitch with flange nuts.
All 1/2 inch fasteners must be torqued to 110 ft.-lbs. This includes the 1/2-13 x 1 3/4 inch carriage bolts, the 1/2-13 x 2 inch carriage bolt, and the hex flange nuts.
The parts list includes: 2 washers (1/2 inch), 2 carriage bolts (1/2-13 x 1 3/4 inch), 2 fishwire tools (1/2 inch), 3 hex flange nuts (HFN 1213), 2 spacers (CM-SP6, .250 x 1.00 x 3.00 inch), 1 spacer (CM-SP12, .250 x 1.00 x 2.00 inch), and 1 carriage bolt (1/2-13 x 2 inch).
The two larger CM-SP6 spacers (.250 x 1.00 x 3.00 inch) are used with the 1 3/4 inch carriage bolts during fishwiring through the access hole and mounting holes. The smaller CM-SP12 spacer (.250 x 1.00 x 2.00 inch) is placed on the bottom of the tow loop when the 2 inch carriage bolt is installed on the passenger side.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. The manual also warns that all non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Curt recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer (wheel-less) loads. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This inspection should be performed regularly to maintain the hitch in safe working condition.
