This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Nissan Versa (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The kit includes: two CM-SP17 spacers (0.250 x 1.25 x 2.50" square hole), two 1/2" fishwire pieces, one 1/2-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolt, one CM-SP4 spacer (0.250 x 1.50 x 3.00" square hole), three HFN 1213 hex flange nuts, and two 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolts.

Yes. The first installation step is to lower the exhaust by removing two exhaust isolators. After the hitch is installed and secured, you must raise the exhaust back into position and reattach the rubber isolators.
Yes. You must enlarge existing holes on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle to allow the CM-SP17 spacers to pass into the vehicle frame rail. You will also need to trim the heat shield to allow access to the round hole on the passenger side. These modifications are permanent.
The fishwire hardware technique is used to reverse pull the 1/2" x 1 1/2" carriage bolts and CM-SP17 spacers into the enlarged holes from inside the vehicle frame rail. The manual references a reverse pull fishwire technique diagram for detailed visual guidance on this step.
All 1/2" hardware must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench to ensure proper tightening.
1. Lower exhaust by removing two exhaust isolators and remove the rubber plug from the driver side hole. 2. Trim heat shield to access the passenger side round hole. 3. Enlarge holes on both driver and passenger sides for the CM-SP17 spacers. 4. Reverse fishwire the 1/2" x 1 1/2" carriage bolts and CM-SP17 spacers into the enlarged holes, and install the 1/2" x 1 3/4" carriage bolt and CM-SP4 spacer through the top of the vehicle tow loop. 5. Raise the hitch into position and secure with 1/2" hex flange nuts. 6. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 lb-ft. 7. Raise exhaust back into position and reattach the rubber isolators.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. Using proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by Curt part 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the Curt catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information on stabilizing straps.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This should be done regularly to maintain safe operation.
The hitch is designed for use with Curt ball mount D-20 / 45520. Euro mount options are available: part 45561 (1-7/8" ball) and part 45562 (2" ball).
