Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Hyundai Elantra and Elantra Coupe (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)
Includes ball mount #45521, installation hardware, pin & clip

The 2013-2016 Hyundai Elantra All Class 1 Trailer Hitch, 1-1/4" Ball Mount (Part #CHD-113033-003) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, part number 11303 is designed for Hyundai Elantra Sedan and Coupe models from 2011 to present. The installation process differs slightly between sedan and coupe models, particularly regarding plastic trimming on coupe models.
The hitch supports a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 200 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The hitch weight is 60 lbs.
The manual specifies that the hitch is designed for use with ball mount D-55001 or 45501. Euro mount options are available as part numbers 45571 (1-7/8" ball) and 45572 (2" ball). Consult Curt Manufacturing or an authorized dealer before using other ball mounts.
Required tools are: socket wrench, torque wrench, 3/4" socket, 10mm socket, die grinder, screwdriver, and shears (aviation shears recommended for plastic trimming). A marker is also helpful for marking drill holes on Korean-built models.
The hitch includes: three 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolts, three HFN 1213 hex flange nuts, two CM-SP6 spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00"), one CM-SP4 spacer (0.250 x 1.50 x 3.00"), and one 1/2" fishwire.
Yes, lowering the exhaust is the first installation step. Remove the rubber isolators from the muffler to lower the exhaust and ease installation. The exhaust is raised back into position in the final step after the hitch is secured.
Yes. Remove the heat shield from the passenger side. If equipped, remove plastic from the driver side using a screwdriver and 10mm socket, keeping the hardware for reattachment. Locate and remove the rear rubber cap from both driver and passenger side frame rails (discard the cap on sedan vehicles only; retain it on coupe models).
Drilling is required only on Korean-built models. For Korean-built vehicles, raise the hitch into position using it as a template, mark the holes, and drill holes large enough to allow 1/2-13 carriage bolts and CM-SP6 spacers to pass through. Check your vehicle door sticker to confirm build location. Non-Korean models require hole enlargement only, not drilling.
Yes, you must enlarge the driver and passenger side mounting holes to allow 1/2-13 carriage bolts and CM-SP6 spacers to pass through. Use a die grinder for this task. On coupe models, also enlarge the 1/4" hole to allow for the 1/2" carriage bolt. The hole enlargement diagram shows the required 1.00" diameter opening.
Yes, on coupe models only, trim plastic on the driver side of the vehicle as shown in the installation diagram and reinstall it back into position. This is step 12 of the installation process.
All 1/2-13 hardware (carriage bolts and flanged nuts) must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. This applies to the fasteners at the frame rails and the tow loop connection.
The reverse fishwire technique is used to route the 1/2-13 carriage bolts and CM-SP6 spacers through the enlarged access holes on both sides of the frame rail. The fishwire (included in the kit) is used to guide the bolts through the access holes from the rear, allowing installation without removing the frame rail.
1. Lower exhaust. 2. Remove heat shield (passenger side) and plastic (driver side if equipped). 3. Remove rear rubber caps from frame rails. 4. Enlarge or drill mounting holes. 5. Use fishwire to route carriage bolts and spacers through frame rail access holes. 6. Reinstall heat shield. 7. Install carriage bolt and spacer through tow loop. 8. Raise hitch by lifting passenger side over exhaust first, then driver side. 9-10. Loosely install flanged nuts. 11. Torque all hardware to 110 lb-ft. 12. Trim plastic on coupe models. 13. Raise exhaust back into position.
Raise the passenger side of the hitch over the exhaust first so that the heat shield will be sandwiched between the side plate and frame rail. After the passenger side is in position, raise the driver side of the hitch.
Leave the flanged nuts loose during installation steps 9-10. Only after the hitch is fully positioned and all fasteners are installed should you torque all 1/2-13 hardware to 110 lb-ft in step 11.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. Using proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce time required. If you are hesitant to undertake this task, contact an authorized Curt installer for assistance.
All non-trailer loads (wheel-less loads) applied to this hitch must be supported by Curt part number 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. Curt recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer loads.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This inspection should be performed regularly to maintain safe operation.
Professional installation takes approximately 30 minutes. Novice (DIY) installation takes approximately 60 minutes. The manual notes that the listed time is for professional installers, and if you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, you should contact an authorized Curt installer.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person available is recommended, particularly when raising the hitch into position.
