This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Audi A4 Quattro and Allroad (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

The hitch has a gross load capacity of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.

No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing weldnut holes and existing holes in the frame and bumper bracket.
Yes, heat shield trimming is required. You must cut out the area of the heat shield covering the access hole. The manual provides a heat shield trim detail diagram showing the approximate 5.00 inch access hole location.
Yes. You must lower the exhaust system during installation. This involves removing nuts from rear exhaust hangers, removing bolts from front exhaust hangers, and wrapping wire around the exhaust to support it without damage. The exhaust is reinstalled as the final step.
Yes. You must open the rear hatch/trunk, remove the middle lid covering the spare tire, remove the rear-most tie-down latches from both side rails, and remove the side rails. These components are reinstalled after the bumper bracket fasteners are replaced.
Required tools are: ratchet, ratchet extension, 10mm socket, 13mm socket, 16mm socket, 3/4" socket, T30 Torx, T25 Torx, center punch, and torque wrench.
The kit includes: 2× 1/2" fishwire, 4× hex flange nuts (HFN 1213), 4× 0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00" square hole spacers (CM-SP6), 4× 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolts, 2× 7/16" washers, 2× M10-1.5 x 110 hex bolts, 2× 7/16" conical toothed washers, and 2× M10-1.50 hex nuts.
Torque all M10 hardware to 45 ft-lbs. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs. This includes the M10-1.5 x 110 hex bolts at the bumper bracket and the 1/2" carriage bolts at the frame.
The manual references 'fishwire techniques' and 'reverse fishwire techniques' in steps 5 and 6 but does not provide detailed instructions. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-800-798-0813 for guidance on this procedure.
Non-trailer loads may be applied to this hitch only if they are supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain the integrity and safety of the installation.
Curt Manufacturing warrants the product to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship at the time of retail purchase by the original purchaser. If defective, Curt may repair or replace the product at their option when returned prepaid with proof of purchase. Warranty is voided by alteration, misuse, or improper installation.
