This fits: 2013-2016 Dodge Dart All
Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Dodge Dart (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)
Includes ball mount #45520, installation hardware, pin & clip

Yes, CURT part number 11281 is designed specifically for the 2013 Dodge Dart Sedan. Before installation, verify that your hitch matches the vehicle photo and hitch illustration provided in the manual to confirm proper fitment.
The hitch has a gross load capacity of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
Required tools include: 10 mm socket, 3/4" socket, socket extension (6"), ratchet, torque wrench, screwdriver, and aviation shears. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. Using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce the time required.
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that if you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, you should contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
You must remove: (1) center and side aero shields using a 10 mm socket, (2) rubber exhaust isolators and access covers on each side of the frame rail, and (3) the forward exhaust isolator while supporting the exhaust from underneath. If chrome exhaust outlet accessories are included as a vehicle option, remove the three M10 bolts and remove the outlet piece.
Fishwiring is a technique used to guide fasteners through the vehicle frame rails during installation. The manual specifies that fishwiring is required for this hitch. Four pieces of 1/2" fishwire are included in the parts list. Fishwires are attached to bolts and spacer plates, inserted into the frame rails to align the hitch, and then removed before final torquing of the hardware.
Yes, trimming is required. You must trim the center aero shield at marked lines using aviation shears. Once trimmed, the center aero shield is reinstalled. This is a permanent modification to the vehicle's aero shield.
All hardware must be torqued to 110 ft-lb. This torque is applied after fishwires are removed and the hitch is aligned to the vehicle frame rails.
The hitch includes: four 1/2-13 x 1 1/2 Grade 8 carriage bolts, four Grade 8 hex flange nuts (HFN 1213), four 0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00" spacers (CM-SP6), and four pieces of 1/2" fishwire. These fasteners are used to attach the hitch to the vehicle frame rails.
The installation sequence is: (1) remove center and side aero shields, (2) remove rubber exhaust isolators and access covers, (3) remove chrome exhaust outlet if equipped and prepare spacer plates with fishwire and bolts, (4) insert fishwires through hitch mounting holes and align hitch to frame rails, (5) remove fishwires and torque hardware to 110 ft-lb, (6) trim center aero shield at marked lines, (7) reinstall center aero shield, (8) reinstall muffler isolators and side aero shields, and (9) raise exhaust back into position.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. When removing the forward exhaust isolator, the exhaust must be supported from underneath to prevent damage or injury. Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
The CURT 11281 is designed for use with ballmount #D-20/45520. Euro mount options are available: #45561 (1 7/8" ball) and #45562 (2" ball).
All non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. CURT recommends the use of 18050 stabilizing straps for all non-trailer (wheel-less) loads. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection is critical to safe operation of the hitch.
