However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Dodge Dart (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)
Includes installation hardware

Yes, CURT part number 11281 is designed for the 2013 Dodge Dart Sedan. This is a weight-carrying hitch with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 2000 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Always verify that your specific vehicle configuration matches before purchasing.
CURT hitch 11281 is designed for use with ballmount #D-20/45520. Euro mount options are also available: #45561 (1 7/8" ball) and #45562 (2" ball).
CURT hitch 11281 has a maximum trailer weight capacity of 2000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the hitch rating.
Required tools include: 10 mm socket, 3/4" socket, socket extension (6"), ratchet, torque wrench, screwdriver, and aviation shears. A torque wrench is essential because the main fasteners must be torqued to 110 ft-lb.
The kit includes: 4 bolts (1/2"-13 UNC, 1-1/2", Grade 8, part 10-10287), 4 serrated flange nuts (1/2"-13 UNC, Grade 8, part 20-00062), 4 spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 3.00", part CM-SP6), and 4 pieces of 1/2" fishwire (part 1_2 FISHWIRE).
Two people may be required to ease installation. The manual recommends reading all instructions thoroughly before beginning and notes that using proper tools will greatly improve the quality of the install and reduce installation time.
You must remove: (1) center and side aero shields using a 10 mm socket, (2) rubber exhaust isolators and access covers on each side of the frame rail, and (3) if equipped, the chrome exhaust outlet accessories (3 M10 bolts). The forward exhaust isolator must be removed while supporting the exhaust from underneath.
Fishwiring is a temporary alignment technique. You insert the 4 bolts through the square hole spacer plates and attach fishwire to each bolt. The bolt assemblies are then inserted into the frame rails. The fishwires are threaded through the mounting holes in the trailer hitch to align it to the vehicle frame rails. Once aligned, the fishwires are removed and the hardware is torqued to 110 ft-lb.
All main fasteners (the 1/2"-13 UNC bolts and serrated flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lb. A torque wrench is required to achieve this specification.
Yes, trimming is required. You must trim the center aero shield at marked lines using aviation shears. Once trimmed, the center aero shield is reinstalled.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times while installing this product. When removing the forward exhaust isolator, the exhaust must be supported from underneath to prevent damage or injury.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information on stabilizing straps.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. The manual does not specify a retorque interval, but regular inspection is essential for safe operation.
