This fits: 2017-2019 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback, excluding diesel
However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Chevy Cruze (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.
Trailer hitch weight ratings are limited to vehicle manufacturer's stated capacities
Not compatible for use with vertical hanging bicycles (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically)
Installation requires heat shield trimming and temporary lowering of exhaust

Yes, CURT part number 11458 is designed for 2017-present Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback models.
The CURT 11458 is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 200 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower.
The CURT 11458 is designed for use with ballmount #45521. Euro mount options are available: #45571 (1 7/8" ball) or #45572 (2" ball).
Non-trailer (wheel-less) loads can be applied to this hitch only if they are supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. For further information, see the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com.
Required tools: ratchet, 6" socket extension, 13mm socket, 11/16" socket, needle nose pliers, aviation shears, torque wrench, and safety glasses. Two people may be required to ease installation.
The kit includes: (4) 7/16-14 UNC 1-1/2" grade 8 bolts (part 10-10282), (4) 0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers (CM-SP2), (4) 7/16-14 UNC serrated flange nuts grade 8 (part 20-00103), and (4) 7/16" fishwire.
No, the CURT 11458 requires no drilling. It uses existing holes in the frame rails.
Before installation, read all instructions thoroughly. Wear safety glasses at all times. The exhaust must be temporarily lowered, and the heat shield must be temporarily removed and trimmed. If you are hesitant to undertake this task, contact an authorized CURT installer for assistance. Technical support is available at 877-287-8634.
A 3" x 3" square must be removed from the heat shield following the contours shown in the trim diagram. The trim diagram is provided in the installation instructions as a reference.
Use aviation shears to trim the heat shield. The manual specifies aviation shears as a required tool for this task.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing (2) nuts from each exhaust hanger using a 13mm socket; push the plastic clip out of the way first. 2. Temporarily remove the heat shield by removing (6) retention nuts with needle nose pliers, then trim a 3" x 3" square following the trim diagram. 3. Fishwire (2) 7/16" bolts and spacers into the holes in each frame rail, then reinstall the heat shield using only the center retention nuts. 4. Raise the hitch into position and secure with 7/16" flange nuts; torque the 7/16" bolts to 59 ft-lbs. 5. Reinstall the exhaust using the nuts removed in step 1.
Using a 13mm socket, remove (2) nuts from each exhaust hanger. There is a plastic clip on the exhaust hanger that must be pushed out of the way to allow the exhaust to be lowered.
Fishwire refers to threading the bolts and spacers through the existing holes in the frame rails. The kit includes (4) 7/16" fishwire for this purpose. This allows you to position the bolts before raising the hitch into place.
Two 7/16" bolts and two 0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers go into each frame rail (one set per side). The installation walkthrough shows the positioning on the driver side and passenger side frame rails.
Torque the 7/16" bolts to 59 ft-lbs.
An 11/16" socket is required to tighten the 7/16-14 UNC bolts. The manual lists 11/16" socket as a required tool.
A 13mm socket is required to remove the (2) nuts from each exhaust hanger.
There are (6) retention nuts on the heat shield. All (6) must be removed to temporarily remove the heat shield for trimming. After trimming, only the center retention nuts are reinstalled.
After trimming the heat shield, reinstall only the center retention nuts. The outer retention nuts are not reinstalled.
Wear safety glasses at all times while installing this product. If you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance. Technical support is available at 877-287-8634.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. While the CURT 11458 is rated for 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight, your vehicle's manufacturer may specify a lower limit. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing maintenance is important for safe operation.
The manual states to periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound, but does not specify an exact interval. Regular inspection before towing is recommended.
