Weather covers are installed on the top and bottom of the receiver housing to protect it from the elements. They are included with the hitch and must be installed before attaching the receiver housing to the hitch brackets.
The fishwire method is used to route carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the vehicle frame to the attachment holes. Pull wires are attached to the bolts and blocks, then guided through access holes in the frame. The rearward bolts use 2" long blocks, and the forward bolts use 3" long blocks. The pull wires are left attached until the hitch is raised into position and the bolts are secured with conical washers and hex nuts.

Pull wires are used to route the carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the vehicle frame. During steps 5 and 6, leave the pull wires attached to the bolts and blocks. When raising the hitch into position in step 7, guide the fishwire ends through the attachment holes, then remove the pull wires before installing the conical washers and hex nuts. Kink the pull wire to keep the spacer independent of the bolt during routing.
