This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Buick Regal TourX (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

Yes, the heat shield must be trimmed. Using aviation shears, trim the heat shield as shown in the Heat Shield Trim Diagram (12.00" length, 2.50" width). All dimensions are approximate; confirm fit prior to trimming. The heat shield is then reinstalled after trimming.
Trimming the center fascia tab is optional and may ease installation. If you choose to trim, cut 0.250 inches as shown in the Fascia Tab Trim Diagram. This is not required for installation to proceed.
Yes, you must lower the exhaust. Using a 15mm socket, remove 2 bolts attaching the exhaust bracket to the rear of the vehicle on each side. Support the exhaust to avoid damage. After the hitch is installed, the exhaust bracket is reinstalled on the hitch mounting plate.
Two people may be required to ease installation. One person alone may find it challenging, but the manual does not state that two people are absolutely required.
Professional installation time is approximately 40 minutes. Novice (DIY) installation time is approximately 60 minutes.
All 7/16 hardware must be torqued to 59 ft-lbs.
All M10 hardware must be torqued to 45 ft-lbs.
The hitch includes: (4) M10 - 1.5 x 65 hex bolts, (4) 7/16 fishwire carriage bolts, (4) 7/16-14 x 1 1/2 carriage bolts, (4) 7/16-14 hex flange nuts, (4) CM-SP2 square hole spacers (0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25"), and (2) CM-SP1 square hole spacers (0.250 x 1.50 x 2.00").
The fishwire technique is used to route 2 carriage bolts (7/16) and 2 CM-SP2 spacers through the access hole and out the mounting holes on each side of the frame rails. This allows the bolts to be positioned before raising the hitch into place.
