This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Toyota Avalon and Toyota Camry (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

No drilling is required. However, access hole enlargement is required on both frame rails. The manual specifies trimming of heat shields and the plastic underbody panel using the provided trim diagrams.
Heat shield trimming is required: remove 2.00 inches from the top and 1.00 inch from the bottom. Plastic underbody panel trimming is required: remove 4.25 inches from the top and 3.25 inches from the bottom. Use the heat shield trim diagram and panel trim diagram provided in the manual for reference. Save all trimmed components for reinstallation.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing rubber isolators and applicable brackets (varies by vehicle origin and exhaust type). Support exhaust to prevent damage. 2. Remove and trim heat shields and plastic underbody panel using provided diagrams; save for reinstallation. 3. Enlarge access holes in both frame rails and reverse-install fishwire with 1/2" carriage bolt and CM-SP10 spacer into each hole. 4. Raise hitch into position, secure with provided hardware while reinstalling exhaust hangers, apply torque specifications, and reinstall underbody panel.
Remove (2) rubber isolators per muffler and (1) rubber isolator forward of the muffler. On Japan-built vehicles, remove the tie-down bracket from the passenger side frame rail. On USA-built vehicles, remove the rear exhaust hanger from the driver side frame rail. On dual-exhaust vehicles, remove the rear exhaust hanger from both frame rails. Support the exhaust to prevent damage and save all components for reinstallation.
Torque M12 hardware to 79 ft-lbs, M8 hardware to 23 ft-lbs, and 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs.
The hitch includes: (2) 1/2-13 UNC carriage bolts, 1-1/2" grade 8 (part 10-10287); (2) M12x1.25 hex head cap screws, 45mm class 10.9 (part 10-10331); (4) M8x1.25 flange bolts, 35mm class 10.9 (part 10-10333); (2) 1/2-13 UNC serrated flange nuts grade 8 (part 20-00062); (2) 1/2" split-cone washers (part 30-00149); (2) 0.250 x 1.00 x 2.50" square hole spacers CM-SP10; and (2) 1/2" fishwire.
