Whatever the next item is on your to-do list -- whether it's arriving at the jobsite before dawn or getting your travel trailer set up in time to see the sunset -- CURT class 4 trailer hitches offer greater towing power to let you Bring It. These custom receiver hitches are built to tackle bigger jobs and bolder adventures, all while giving you a custom fit for your vehicle. Class 4 hitches are available for a variety of makes and models, from pickup trucks and SUVs to full-size and commercial vans. This particular class 4 hitch fits certain years of the Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Blazer, Suburban or Tahoe and GMC Yukon (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 10,000 lbs. GTW and 1,000 lbs. TW. It can also accept a weight distributing hitch, offering a maximum WD capacity of 12,000 lbs. and a WDTW of 1,200 lbs. CURT class 4 tow hitches are as much suited for work as they are for play. With their high load capacities, they are typically used for towing larger trailers, including everything from a double-axle utility trailer or livestock trailer to a full-length camper or large boat trailer (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). All CURT class 4 receiver hitches come with a 2" receiver tube opening and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation. From light-duty to heavy-duty, every CURT custom hitch is engineered to be vehicle-specific, using actual vehicles to create the optimal design. We then combine high-strength steel, precise welding and a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and durable black powder coat to provide you with a hitch you can depend on. To prove it, we test all our hitches in accordance with SAE J684 for safety.
If your vehicle is not equipped with wiring for towing a trailer, CURT custom wiring is the ideal solution. A custom wiring harness -- also called a T-connector -- is a simple, plug-and-play electrical device that plugs into your automotive electric system and provides a standard, universal trailer wiring connection. This is done using two or more vehicle-specific, OEM-compatible connectors to plug into the taillight assembly, eliminating the need for cutting, splicing and soldering during installation. Custom wiring harnesses are made vehicle-specific, and while they are not available for all vehicles, they do offer one of the fastest, easiest and most secure ways to wire a vehicle for towing. This particular plug-in harness provides a 4-way flat connector socket and is designed to be a custom wiring harness to fit certain years of the Chevy Blazer, C1500 Suburban, C2500 Suburban, K1500 Suburban, K2500 Suburban, Tahoe, GMC C1500 Suburban, C2500 Suburban, K1500 Suburban, K2500 Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL 1500, Yukon XL 2500 and Cadillac Escalade (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary wiring components to establish a reliable trailer wiring connection, as well as a dust cover to keep the connector clean when not in use. You have a picture in mind of your next destination -- maybe it's the boat landing at your favorite fishing spot, maybe it's a campsite that overlooks one of nature's masterpieces, or maybe it's the next big jobsite. However, turning that picture into a reality takes more than just daydreaming. It takes a solid connection and the right amount of power. CURT custom wiring is made with some of the most sophisticated technology in the industry and is designed to install with ease, giving you a long-lasting electrical connection for your towing hitch setup.

The hitch weighs 37 lbs.

The kit includes 6 square hole spacers (CM-SP1, 0.250 × 1.50 × 2.00"), 6 grade 8 zinc-plated 1/2-13 UNC flange nuts (part 20-00062), 6 grade 8 zinc-plated 1/2-13 UNC 1-3/4" carriage bolts (part 10-10272), and 1 piece of 1/2" fishwire (part 1_2 FISHWIRE).
Some models may require the mounting holes to be reamed out to 1/2". Check your vehicle's existing holes; if they are smaller, they must be enlarged to 1/2" to accommodate the 1/2" bolts.
For boxed-in frames, fishwiring makes installation easier. Wrap a wire around the threads of the bolt at the end, then pull the wire, bolt, and spacers back through an existing access hole and into the attachment hole. This allows you to position fasteners without pushing them into the frame.
Raise the hitch into position carefully, taking care not to push bolts back into the frame. The large slot on each side of the hitch fits over the rivet on the frame rail. Once positioned, secure each bolt with a flange nut.
All fasteners on the Curt 14029 must be torqued to 110 lb.-ft.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This helps maintain safe operation and prevent loosening due to vibration and use.
Yes. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself supports up to 10,000 lbs. trailer weight as a weight-carrying hitch or 12,000 lbs. as a weight-distribution hitch, but your vehicle's capacity may be lower.
The Curt 14029 fits 1992–2000 Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, Yukon, and Tahoe; 1999–2002 Cadillac Escalade; and 1992–1996 Chevrolet full-size Blazer.

Part number 55319 is designed for Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Blazer, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Suburban, and GMC Yukon. Your vehicle must have a factory tow harness located at position S6 on the driver side frame rail with connectors compatible with the T-connector.
The kit includes a T-connector, a white wire with eyelet, and a screw for grounding. The T-connector is designed to splice into the vehicle's factory tow harness connectors.
The factory tow harness is located under the vehicle at position S6, along the driver side frame rail. It will have connectors similar to those on the T-connector.
1. Locate and disconnect the factory tow harness connectors at position S6 on the driver side frame rail, being careful not to damage the locking tabs. 2. Insert the T-connector end between the disconnected connectors. 3. Ensure the locking tabs on the T-connector are fully locked into place.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame. Secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided with the kit. Alternatively, drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw.
Drilling is not always required. If a suitable grounding point exists near the connector—such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame—you can use that. If no existing fastener is available, you will need to drill a 3/32" hole for the grounding wire.
Drill a 3/32" hole for the white grounding wire eyelet.
Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and secure it in a convenient, out-of-the-way location.
Before drilling, verify that miscellaneous items hidden behind or under any surface will not be damaged. Drilling without checking can cause damage and/or personal injury.
Yes, Curt 55319 is designed for Chevrolet Tahoe. Your vehicle must have a factory tow harness at position S6 on the driver side frame rail.
Not necessarily. If an existing screw with nut is available on the frame near the connector, use that for grounding. Otherwise, drill a 3/32" hole.
The manual does not specify required tools. You will need a drill with a 3/32" bit if no existing grounding point is available.
Disconnect the factory harness connectors at position S6 on the driver side frame rail, insert the T-connector between them, and lock the locking tabs into place.
