The kit includes a T-connector with yellow and green wires, a 4-flat connector, a white ground wire with eyelet and screw, a black converter box, double-sided tape, and cable ties for securing loose parts.
Open the tailgate. On the driver's side, remove the two hex head bolts securing the taillight assembly. Separate the connectors carefully, making sure not to damage the locking tabs. Repeat on the passenger side.
On the driver's side, place the T-connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle harness and the taillight assembly. Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place. Repeat on the passenger side using the green wire T-connector.
Route the green wire and 4-flat wire down through the opening under the taillight assembly, then along the backside of the bumper to the passenger side, and up through the opening under the taillight assembly on that side. Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and secure it in a convenient, out-of-the-way location.
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing screw with nut in the vehicle's frame. If no suitable point exists, drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided in the kit.
Drilling is required only if a suitable existing grounding point (such as a screw with nut in the vehicle frame) is not available. If drilling is necessary, you will drill a 3/32" hole for the ground wire eyelet.
