Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Ford Windstar (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Curt part number 13085 is designed for 1994–2003 Ford Windstar vans only. If your vehicle is a different model, year, or body style, this hitch will not fit. Verify your vehicle year and model before purchasing.
The kit includes: one 1/2" fishwire, six 0.250 × 1.00 × 2.50" square hole spacers (part CM-SP10), six 1/2"-13 UNC carriage bolts grade 8 (part 10-10272), and six 1/2"-13 UNC serrated flange nuts grade 8 (part 20-00062). All fasteners are grade 8 and must be torqued to 110 lb-ft.
Yes, drilling is required. The installation uses existing frame slots for initial fastening, but you must drill two 1/2" holes per side (four holes total) for additional mounting hardware. A 1/2" drill bit is needed.
Fishwiring is a fastening technique mentioned in the installation steps. The manual requires you to fishwire square hole spacers and carriage bolts through existing frame slots and drilled locations. The exact technique is not detailed in this manual; consult the manufacturer or an experienced installer if you are unfamiliar with this method.
1. Fishwire a square hole spacer and carriage bolt through the existing frame slot and down to the existing rearward attachment slot on both sides. 2. Raise the hitch into position and fasten with 1/2" flange nuts. 3. Using the hitch as a template, drill two 1/2" holes per side. 4. Fishwire square hole spacers and bolts to the drilled locations. 5. Attach a flange nut to each bolt and torque all fasteners to 110 lb-ft.
All fasteners must be torqued to 110 lb-ft. This applies to all six bolts and nuts after installation is complete.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself has rated capacities, but your vehicle's frame, suspension, brakes, and engine have limits that must be respected. Consult your Ford Windstar owner's manual for the maximum towing weight your specific year and model can safely handle.
