When assembling the lower bracket main plate, vehicles with sway bars must use the holes farthest away from the flanges for the left (driver's) side and the holes closest to the flanges for the right (passenger's) side. Vehicles without sway bars use the square holes farthest away from the flange for both sides. Additionally, for sway bar-equipped vehicles, you may need to cut the front carriage bolt just below the nut to prevent contact with the sway bar.
Yes. For 2023 and newer models with electronic rear brakes, you must remove the left-side wire harness from the axle bracket and secure it to the right-side wire harness before installing the air spring assemblies. For 2022 and earlier models, skip this step and proceed directly to step 4 of the Installing the Air Spring Assemblies section.

1. Raise the vehicle and support it using safety stands or equivalent so the axle can be safely lowered away from the frame. This is necessary to position the air spring assembly between the axle and frame. 2. Unbolt and remove the jounce bumper assembly from under the frame on both sides. 3. Remove the clip-in studs by prying on the hinged end with a screwdriver and pulling all four studs (two from each side) out from the frame. 4. Install universal nuts into the frame rail, aligning the holes in the frame with the threads in the nuts so a bolt can be installed.
The slot on the side of the upper bracket should be inboard (away from the leaf spring and tire), and the elongated hole should be toward the front of the truck. Install the upper bracket onto the frame using M10-1.5 x 35 mm button-head cap screws (part J) and torque to 38 lb.-ft. (52 Nm).
Set a roll plate (F) on top of the air spring (G) with the radiused (rounded) edge of the roll plate toward the air spring so it seats inside the roll plate. Install the 90-degree swivel fitting (R) into the port on top of the air spring finger-tight plus 1½ turns.
Set the upper air spring bracket (E) onto the top of the air spring using one set of holes with the 3/8"-24 x 7/8" hex-cap screw (T), 3/8" lock washer (U), and 3/8" flat washer (N). Install the remaining air spring bracket onto the remaining air spring using the opposite holes from those previously used. This creates left-hand and right-hand units. Torque the hardware to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
The flange on the lower bracket must be on the opposite side of the fitting that is located on the top of the air spring. This ensures proper clearance and alignment during installation.
No. When installing the lower bracket cup (C) onto the lower bracket main plate using the 5/16"-18 x 3/4" carriage bolt (L) and 5/16"-18 serrated flange lock nut (M), snug the bolt down but leave it loose enough for the bracket to move freely in the slot.
Before proceeding with installation, ensure the 90-degree fittings each point inboard toward the center of the vehicle. This orientation is critical for proper air line routing and clearance.
On the driver's (left) side, the long carriage bolt in the lower bracket main plate should be located between the hard brake line and axle. On the passenger's (right) side, the carriage bolt should be located on the backside of the brake line. If the hard brake line is resting on the lower bracket carriage bolts on either side, push or pull the brake line out of the way.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole in your chosen location for each Schrader valve. Recommended locations are inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or in the license plate or rear bumper area.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter when cutting the air line (AA). Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these will damage the air line.

Torque the upper frame bracket hardware (M10-1.5 x 35 mm button-head cap screws) to 38 lb.-ft. (52 Nm).
Torque the upper air spring bracket hardware (3/8"-24 x 7/8" hex-cap screw with lock washer and flat washer) to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Torque the lower bracket main plate hardware (3/8"-24 x 3/4" flat-head socket-cap screws) to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Evenly torque the lower clamp bar hardware (3/8" flat washers and 3/8" nylon lock nuts) to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm).
Torque the U-bolt hardware (3/8" flat washer and 3/8" nylon lock nut) to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm).
Torque the upper frame bracket carriage bolts (3/8" serrated flange lock nuts) to 31 lb.-ft. (42 Nm).
Remove the left-side wire harness from the axle bracket and secure it to the right-side wire harness before installing the air spring assemblies. This step is required only for 2023 and newer models with electronic rear brakes.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Never inflate beyond this pressure. Although the air springs are rated at this maximum, the actual air pressure needed depends on your load and gross vehicle weight rating.
The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR).
Keep at least 6 inches (152 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If there is no heat shield but one is required, contact Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1 inch (25 mm). Avoid sharp bends and edges, and do not pinch or kink the air line.
Leave at least 2 inches (51 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line.
Inflate the air springs to 40-60 PSI (2.8-4.1 BAR) and ensure there is at least 1/2 inch (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each sleeve. Be sure to check the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers, and brake cables.
Maintain 1/2 inch (13 mm) of dead air space between the heat shield and exhaust. Attach the metal heat shield to the exhaust pipe or exhaust resonator using hose clamps, and slide the air line thermal sleeve over the air line where it is closest to the exhaust.
No. For safety and to prevent possible damage to the vehicle, do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. The air springs provide load-leveling support but do not increase the vehicle's weight capacity.
