The SlamAir is an air spring suspension kit designed for lowered Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. It uses two air springs (part 58482) mounted between the frame and axle to support the vehicle's weight and maintain ride height. The kit allows you to adjust air pressure to fine-tune ride height, comfort, and stability. It does not change your vehicle's GVWR or payload capacity.
The SlamAir kit is designed for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks in GMT 800 (1999–2007) and GMT 900 (2007 and later) generations. Any load assist product, including the SlamAir kit, could affect brake performance on vehicles equipped with a rear brake proportioning valve. Air Lift recommends checking with your vehicle's dealer before installing this kit. If your vehicle does not have a rear brake proportioning valve or is equipped with an anti-lock brake system, installation will have no effect on brake system performance.
The kit requires a minimum of 5 inches of clearance between the frame and tire when the air spring is fully inflated. This clearance must be measured at the custom ride height of your lowered vehicle.

The installation tool (part 10549) is a rigid assembly that helps position the upper bracket correctly and ensures proper air spring alignment. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable weight of the fully loaded vehicle, including passengers and cargo. This number is shown on the vehicle's Safety Compliance Certification Label along with tire, rim size, and inflation pressure data. Payload is the combined, maximum allowable weight of cargo and passengers that the truck is designed to carry. Payload equals GVWR minus the Base Curb Weight.
No. Compressed air can cause injury and damage to the vehicle and parts if not handled properly. Do not try to inflate the air springs until they have been properly secured to the vehicle.
The air spring can compress to 2.4 inches and extend to 7.0 inches. Regardless of load, the air pressure should be adjusted so that the custom ride height is maintained at all times. The air spring should not be the suspension limiter in compression or extension; the shock absorber is usually the limiter on extension. If this is not the case, you should consider the use of limiting straps.
