No. Adding air springs will not change the weight ratings (GAWR, GCWR or GVWR) of your vehicle. You must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's maximum gross vehicle weight rating. Exceeding the GVWR is dangerous and voids the Air Lift warranty.
The manual does not specify all required tools. You will need a jack or hoist to raise the rear of the vehicle, a wrench or socket set to remove and install bolts and nuts, a standard tube cutter, razor blade or very sharp knife to cut the air line, and a drill with a 5/16 inch bit to create the inflation valve hole. 1. Jack up rear of vehicle and remove rear wheels. 2. Remove four rear mounting bolts, nuts and washers from the frame rail through the Bell Tech C-section reinforcement brace. 3. Install the straight fitting into the air port on the air spring finger tight plus two turns, place the retaining collar on top, insert carriage bolts into lower holes of upper bracket, and attach air spring to upper bracket with 3/8 inch lock washer and 3/8-16x7/8 inch hex head bolts, tightened to 15 ft. lbs. 4. Position lower bracket with slots offset outboard towards the tire. 5. Attach lower pedestal to air spring with 3/8 inch flat washer, 3/8 inch lock washer and 3/8-16x2 inch hex head bolt, left loose for later adjustment. 6. Set unit on leaf spring, insert carriage bolts through frame rail holes, push lower bracket forward until it contacts axle or spring retainer bracket, mark location, remove assembly and tighten lower mounting bolts to 15 ft. lbs. 7. Set assembly back on leaf spring, attach upper bracket to frame rail using 1/2 inch x 1.5 inch carriage bolts, flat washers, lock washers and 1/2 inch nuts, tightened to 50 ft. lbs. 8. Attach lower bracket by inserting U-bolt over front of lower bracket, slide clamp bar onto U-bolt with short leg forward, lock short leg under edge of spring retainer bracket, install 3/8 inch flat washer and 3/8 inch lock nuts, tightened to 20 ft. lbs. 9. Repeat steps 2-8 for passenger side. 10-13. Install inflation valves and air lines.

Most vehicles have a hard rubber compression stop on the rear suspension, and the shock absorber is usually the limiter in full extension. Check that there is proper clearance all around the air spring when inflated; there must be sufficient clearance on all sides. 4. Recheck air pressure after 24 hours. No. Air pressure can be adjusted with any type of compressor as long as it can produce sufficient pressure to service the springs. Even a bicycle tire pump can be used, though it requires more effort. When inflating, add pressure in small quantities and check frequently, as the air spring sleeves require much less air volume than a tire and inflate much quicker.
1. Inflate your air springs to 60 p.s.i. before adding the payload. 2. After the vehicle is loaded, adjust air pressure to level the vehicle and for ride comfort. 3. When carrying a payload, increase tire inflation pressure in proportion to the overload condition. Air Lift recommends a 2 p.s.i. increase above normal (not to exceed tire manufacturer maximum) for each 100 lbs. total overload on the axle. 4. Do not exceed the maximum load recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.

A rough and harsh ride may be due to either too much pressure or not enough pressure. Try different pressures to determine the best ride comfort. However, stability should be the priority over a perfectly level and comfortable ride. If the vehicle has stability issues such as roll control, bounce, dive during braking or sponginess, increase the pressure to address these problems.
Stability issues including bounce, sway and body roll usually require an increase in air pressure. Adjust the air pressure up to reduce movement and improve stability. If the vehicle rocks and rolls, adjust the air pressure to reduce this movement. Stability translates into safety and should be the priority.
If the front of the vehicle dives while braking, increase the pressure in the front air bags if equipped. However, this kit is for rear suspension only. If you have front air bags from another Air Lift product, adjust their pressure to reduce brake dive.
If it is suspected that the air springs have bottomed out, increase the air pressure. Bottoming out occurs when the air spring compresses fully and the internal components contact each other. Increasing pressure will prevent this condition. Failure to maintain minimum pressure or allowing bottoming out will void the warranty.
