There are a lot of trucks out there, and setting yourself apart means going outside the lines, thinking outside the box and living life on the edge. The ARIES AdvantEDGE headache rack offers a unique look and extra protection for your pickup truck. It is distinguished by two key features: an eight-sided tube profile and an all-aluminum construction. Armed with a rock-solid mounting system, an octagonal grid center section and two finish options, the AdvantEDGE headache rack has your back. The all-aluminum construction allows it to protect your truck cab and easily resist the elements. Unlike the more common round and square tube frames of most headache racks, it is built with an octagonal tube profile. This not only supplies it with strength but also offers a look that better complements the style of modern pickup trucks. Because it is made entirely from aluminum, the AdvantEDGE headache rack is also very lightweight and completely resilient to rust. The AdvantEDGE headache rack also features a unique dual track system along the top edge. This provides a flexible mounting point for aftermarket lights, such as an LED light bar, as well as tie-down anchors and other accessories. The AdvantEDGE headache rack is available in two finish options -- carbide black powder coat or chrome powder coat -- for a custom look to complement the style of your truck. Installation is easy with its patented anchoring system. The stake pocket mounting system anchors to the walls of your truck bed with no drilling required, and it provides dependable strength and rigidity for the headache rack. This AdvantEDGE headache rack fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). It also complements other AdvantEDGE accessories, including the AdvantEDGE bull bar and AdvantEDGE side bars.

The ARIES AdvantEDGE headache rack is designed for rear window protection and light accessories on pickup trucks. It mounts to the vehicle's stake pockets and has a maximum vertical load capacity of 150 lbs.
The headache rack is designed for pickup trucks equipped with stake pockets. The manual does not provide a specific list of compatible vehicle makes, models, or years. Contact ARIES Automotive at 800.798.0813 or visit ARIESAUTOMOTIVE.COM to confirm fitment for your specific vehicle.
Required tools are: ratchet, 22mm socket, utility knife, extension, flathead screwdriver, and T-20 Torx bit. Needle nose pliers may also be needed to remove the clamp from the stake pocket. A work table is needed to position the headache rack during assembly.
The kit includes: 1 headache rack, 2 stake pocket clamps, 2 side hole covers, 8 pan head thread forming screws (T-20), 2 hex bolts (14mm), 2 flat washers (14mm), and 2 lock washers (14mm).
Some vehicles have removable stake pocket covers and cutting is not necessary. Others have plastic covers that must be cut out. Check your vehicle first—if the covers are removable, no cutting is required. If they are fixed, use a utility knife to cut them out on both the driver and passenger sides.
Not all vehicles have stake pocket plugs. Removal is only necessary if the plug interferes with the stake pocket clamps. If present, use a flathead screwdriver to push in the tab and remove the plug from both driver and passenger sides.
Before installation, verify that the stake pocket clamp hooks open fully on both sides of each stake pocket. If a clamp does not fully open on both sides, the tabs may need to be bent to allow proper fit. Needle nose pliers may be needed to remove the clamp from the stake pocket during this adjustment.
Place the headache rack on a work table with the slotted ends hanging off the sides. For each side, insert a 14mm bolt through the slot, then add a 14mm lock washer and 14mm flat washer, and attach to the stake pocket clamp. The clamp should hang down from the bottom of the headache rack. Repeat for both driver and passenger sides.
Carefully align the stake pocket clamps over the stake pockets. With help, hold the clamps shut so they fit into the stake pockets and insert the clamp into the driver-side pocket first. Repeat on the passenger side. Two people are recommended for this step to safely position and hold the clamps.
After both clamps are inserted into the stake pockets, adjust the headache rack until it is in the desired location. Once positioned, hand tighten the bolts enough to prevent movement of the headache rack. Do not fully tighten at this stage. The side hole covers may need to be removed to access the stake pocket clamp bolts depending on the desired position.
Torque should never exceed 70 ft·lbs. Overtightening the hardware can damage the vehicle. Hand tighten the bolts initially to prevent movement, then apply final torque carefully not to exceed this limit.
The vertical load should never exceed 150 lbs. This limit applies to any accessories or cargo placed on the headache rack.
For chrome powder coat finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs, or mild soap may be used to clean the product. For black finishes, use mild soap to clean. Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
After installation, perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Check that the headache rack is securely positioned and that no bolts have loosened. Retighten any loose hardware as needed, ensuring torque does not exceed 70 ft·lbs.
The headache rack is designed for pickup trucks with stake pockets. Specific vehicle compatibility is not listed in the manual. Contact ARIES Automotive at 800.798.0813 or visit ARIESAUTOMOTIVE.COM to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
