ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Dodge Dakota (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

The kit includes: 1 driver/left sidebar, 1 passenger/right sidebar, 2 front mounting brackets, 2 rear mounting brackets, 2 middle support brackets, 2 plastic retainers, 4 12mm × 50mm bolt plates, 4 12mm flat washers, 4 12mm lock washers, 2 10mm × 25mm hex bolts, 4 10mm flat washers, 4 10mm lock washers, 2 10mm nuts, and 2 10mm × 35mm T bolts.
Yes. You must remove the factory body bolts and washers at the front and rear of the vehicle on both sides. The front mounting bracket and rear mounting bracket are then secured using these same factory bolt holes.
1. Remove factory front body bolt and washer on the driver/left side; secure the front mounting bracket with factory bolts (snug only). 2. Remove the rubber push cap from inside the rocker panel; install the bolt plate and plastic retainer, threading the retainer onto the bolt plate threads and tightening it against the rocker panel. 3. Attach the middle brace bracket to the bolt plate using 1 × 10mm flat washer, 1 × 10mm lock washer, and 1 × 10mm nut (snug only). 4. Remove the rear factory body bolt; secure the rear mounting bracket with factory bolts (snug only). 5. Attach the sidebar to the front mounting bracket using 1 × 12mm × 50mm hex bolt, 1 × 12mm lock washer, and 1 × 12mm flat washer (snug only). 6. Attach the sidebar rear to the rear mounting bracket using 1 × 12mm × 50mm hex bolt, 1 × 12mm lock washer, and 1 × 12mm flat washer (snug only). 7. Secure the middle brace bracket to the bottom of the sidebar using 1 × 10mm flat washer, 1 × 10mm lock washer, and 1 × 10mm hex bolt (snug only). 8. Level and align the sidebar, then tighten all hardware. 9. Repeat for the passenger/right side.
All fasteners must remain loose until the sidebar is fully levelled and aligned. Once the sidebar is properly positioned, all hardware is tightened simultaneously in step 9. This ensures the sidebar sits correctly before final fastening.
The bolt plate is installed into the factory hole on the inside of the rocker panel after removing the rubber push cap. The plastic retainer is threaded onto the bolt plate threads and tightened against the rocker panel to prevent the bolt plate from falling into the hole. This assembly provides an anchor point for the middle brace bracket.

Install the driver/left sidebar first by completing steps 2–9. Then repeat the entire procedure (steps 2–9) for the passenger/right sidebar.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight. Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use abrasive polish or wax. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used on minor scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use mild soap only.
