It begins with a one-piece frame of 1/4" thick welded plates and 1-1/2" mandrel-bent tubing for a solid build. Each one is made with a vehicle-specific design for a better fit, easier install and more secure mounting. The side brush guards are custom-bent to contour to the profile of your vehicle, while the mounting brackets are positioned for a no-drill application. This means pre-existing factory holes are used to ensure optimum fitment and less vibration. This particular custom grille guard fits specific years of the Toyota FJ Cruiser (see application info to verify). The ARIES grille guard also makes it easy to customize the look of your vehicle. Not only does the crossbar have two pre-drilled holes for mounting aftermarket LED lights, but many of our grille guards are also available in two finish options -- polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black steel. The stainless steel grille guard is made with 304 stainless, being high in nickel content and truly resistant to rust and corrosion. This option comes with a mirror-like polished finish for a definitive shine. The semi-gloss black grille guard is made with high-strength carbon steel for added strength. It features a tough, dual-layer E-coat and black powder coat finish to protect against rust, scratches and the elements. All ARIES grille guards also come with rubber stripping along the risers to protect the frame against scuffs and scratches.

Remove all contents from the box and inspect for damage. Verify that all parts listed in the part list are present before proceeding with installation.
Install in this order: (1) Lower brackets on both driver and passenger sides using 3/8 x 4½ hex head bolts, leaving them loose. (2) Middle brackets on the radiator support using M6 x 1.0 x 25 hex head bolts and tighten. (3) Top brackets between the bumper and grill, connecting to middle brackets with 5/16 hex head bolts, leaving loose. (4) Grill guard onto lower brackets using 7/16 x 1¼ hex head bolts, then onto top brackets using 3/8 x 1 button head bolts, leaving all loose. (5) Level and adjust the grill guard, then tighten all fasteners.
Leave loose until final alignment: the lower bracket fasteners (3/8 x 4½ hex head bolts and nyloc nuts), the top bracket fasteners (5/16 hex head bolts), and the grill guard fasteners (7/16 x 1¼ hex head bolts and 3/8 x 1 button head bolts). Only the middle bracket fasteners (M6 x 1.0 x 25 hex head bolts) are tightened immediately.
The lower brackets attach to the frame mounts on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. Each lower bracket uses two 3/8 x 4½ hex head bolts, two 3/8 flat washers, two 3/8 hex nyloc nuts, and two additional 3/8 flat washers.
The middle brackets attach to the radiator support on both driver and passenger sides. Each middle bracket uses four M6 x 1.0 x 25 hex head bolts and four M6 flat washers. These fasteners are tightened immediately during installation, unlike other bracket fasteners.
Insert the top brackets between the bumper and grill on both sides. Align them and connect to the middle brackets using 5/16 hex head bolts and 5/16 flat washers. Leave these fasteners loose until final alignment.
Attach the grill guard starting with the lower brackets using four 7/16 x 1¼ hex head bolts, four 7/16 hex nyloc nuts, and eight 7/16 flat washers. Then attach to the top brackets using two 3/8 x 1 button head bolts, two 3/8 hex nyloc nuts, and two 3/8 flat washers. Leave all fasteners loose until final alignment.
Level and adjust the grill guard to the desired position, then tighten all fasteners.
