For functionality on the trail, the winch adapter plate allows an oversize winch to be mounted onto the ARIES TrailChaser Jeep bumper. It drops into the winch housing of the center section and securely bolts into place, providing a solid platform with standard mounting holes to readily accept a variety of larger winches. The winch adapter also features a built-in, one-piece bracket to also mount a hawse fairlead #2156070 or roller fairlead #2156071. It is constructed from heavy-duty steel and covered in a highly durable textured black powder coat finish.

The ARIES 2072100 is a winch adapter plate designed to mount a winch to a bumper with a slot. It allows the winch to be securely attached using the bumper's existing slot mounting point. The installation is rated as easy difficulty.

Yes. If you are using a roller fairlead, it must be attached to the winch prior to placing the winch on the adapter plate. This is noted in Step 1 of the installation instructions.
Place the winch adapter plate into the slot in the bumper, then place the winch on the adapter. Attach both to the bumper using four M10 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Run the bolts up into the winch from the inside of the bumper. Some winches may require additional mounting hardware beyond what is provided.
The standard torque specification for M10 bolts is 16 ft.-lbs., as listed in the torque specifications table. However, Step 4 states that hardware must be torqued to the winch manufacturer's recommendations, which may differ. Always follow your winch manufacturer's torque specifications.
