The kit includes one winch support bracket, four M10 carriage bolts, four M10 flat washers, four M10 lock washers, four square hole spacers, and four M10 hex nuts. All hardware is needed for installation.
The manual does not specify the vehicle make, model, year or generation. Contact ARIES Automotive at 877-287-8634 or check the product listing where you purchased it for fitment information.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and level. The level is essential for properly aligning the bracket during installation.
Yes. The factory front bumper must be removed before installing the winch support bracket. This involves removing eight plastic push fasteners and two 5mm screws from the fascia, disconnecting the fog light wiring harness, removing four nuts on each side, and carefully lifting the bumper from the frame.
Yes, assistance is required. Step 6 explicitly states 'With assistance, hold the ARIES winch support bracket in place' while securing the hardware. At least one additional person is needed during installation.
1. Remove the front fascia (eight plastic push fasteners and two 5mm screws). 2. Disconnect the fog light wiring harness from behind the passenger side bumper. 3. Remove the four nuts on the driver side securing the factory bumper, then repeat on the passenger side. 4. Lift the factory bumper from the frame. 5. Insert two M10 carriage bolts with square hole spacers into the frame on the driver side, then repeat on the passenger side. 6. With assistance, hold the bracket in place and secure with M10 flat washers, lock washers and hex nuts at all four locations; snug but do not fully tighten. 7. Level and adjust the bracket to the desired position, then tighten all hardware to specification.
No. Step 6 instructs you to 'snug the hardware, but do not fully tighten.' Only after levelling and adjusting the bracket in Step 7 should you tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications.
M10 bolts must be tightened to 25 ft-lbs. This applies to all four M10 carriage bolts securing the winch support bracket.
After snugging all hardware in Step 6, use a level to check the bracket alignment. Adjust the bracket to the desired position using the level as a guide, then tighten all hardware to 25 ft-lbs for the M10 bolts.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. To protect the finish, wax the bracket after installation and regularly thereafter. Use only mild automotive detergent for cleaning. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or products containing abrasive materials, as these may damage the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.
Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required. Ensure you have a ratchet, socket set and level available.
