The ARIES TrailCrusher Jeep bumper is constructed to outmatch every other bumper in its class. With heavy-duty, welded steel construction, it is a highly functional companion on the trail, featuring winch and shackle capabilities with a 12.5K rating. The TrailCrusher bumper is available for the front and rear, and it installs with no drilling required. Everything about the TrailCrusher Jeep bumper is designed to maximize its strength and utility. It is built with 3/16" thick all-steel plates, welded together in a stout, high-strength configuration. It also features 1/4" thick welded shoulder sleeves that add even more strength, particularly to the shackle mounts. Not only does the TrailCrusher bumper provide a 12,500-lb. winch-and-shackle rating, but it also offers excellent versatility. The winch platform of the bumper features industry-standard mounting holes to accept most types of winches, and the shackle mounts accept any pin up to 7/8" in diameter. ARIES forged steel shackles #2166071 offer a perfect fit and a work load limit to match the 12.5K rating. A number of winch accessories are also available, including a hawse fairlead #2156070, roller fairlead #2156071 and winch fairlead mount #15600FB. For added winch protection and an aggressive look on the Jeep JL, a stinger-style angular brush guard #2156050 is available. The TrailCrusher bumper is fast and easy to install, integrating with the Jeep Wrangler JL like a stock bumper. It uses pre-existing holes in the vehicle frame to eliminate drilling from the install process, and it mounts with 3/8" steel brackets for added strength. To be ready for whatever the trail has in store, both the front and rear ARIES one-piece bumpers come an E-coat and carbide black powder-coated finish, maximizing rust and scratch resistance. Each comes with all necessary mounting hardware for a complete installation and is covered by a three-year warranty.

Yes, this TrailCrusher rear bumper is specifically designed for 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL models, so your 2022 will be a perfect fit. It uses a no-drill installation that integrates with your factory mounting points, and comes with all the necessary 3/8" mounting brackets and hardware.
Absolutely! The ARIES 2157002 TrailCrusher bumper fits 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL models, so your 2026 is covered. This one-piece steel construction bumper features welded shackle mounts with a 12,500 lb rating and includes a center cutout for trailer hitch receiver tubes.
This ARIES 2157002 TrailCrusher rear bumper is engineered specifically for 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL models. The bumper features 3/16" thick all-steel plate construction with a carbide black powder coat finish and comes backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
Installation is pretty straightforward since it's designed as a no-drill setup that uses your Jeep's existing factory mounting points. The bumper comes with all mounting hardware and 3/8" thick steel brackets for a solid installation. You'll just need basic hand tools to get it mounted up.
The kit includes: 1 TrailCrusher™ bumper, 1 driver/left side bracket, 1 passenger/right side bracket, 1 license plate bracket, 1 bolt plate, 8 bolt retainers, 6 button head cap screws (M6), 6 lock nuts (M6), 10 carriage bolts (M12), 10 flange nuts (M12), and 2 cable ties.
No. The bumper does not accommodate rear backup sensors. If your Jeep has factory backup sensors, they will not function with this bumper installed.
Required tools are: torque wrench, ratchet, socket set, level, wrench set, hex key set, and small screwdriver. A torque wrench is essential to achieve the correct fastener torque specifications (M12 bolts to 58 ft-lbs, M14 bolts to 93 ft-lbs).
Yes. Assistance is required at two points: when removing the bumper from the Jeep (Step 5) and when sliding the bumper with carriage bolts onto the brackets (Step 11). The manual explicitly states 'With assistance' for both operations.
You must remove: factory mud guards (3 bolts per side), side braces (4 bolts per side), the factory tow hook on the driver side (4 bolts), two large bolts on the passenger side frame, the factory license plate light, and disconnect the license plate light wiring harness. The six large bolts from the tow hook and frame will be reused for the bumper installation.
No. The manual states 'The tow hook will not be reinstalled.' The four bolts securing the tow hook are removed and reused to fasten the driver-side bracket to the frame.
Fasteners must be snugged (not fully tightened) during initial assembly. Tighten in this order: (1) lower bolts on the driver-side bracket and two lower flange nuts on the passenger-side bracket first (Step 12); (2) bolts on the sides of both brackets (Step 13); (3) carriage bolts and nuts securing the bumper to both brackets (Step 13). This sequence allows bumper position adjustment before final tightening.
After sliding the bumper onto the brackets with all eight carriage bolts in place and snugging all fasteners, adjust the bumper to its desired location (Step 12) before final tightening. The manual recommends using a level to ensure proper alignment. Once positioned, tighten fasteners in the specified sequence.
The driver-side bracket is fastened using the four factory bolts removed from the tow hook. The passenger-side bracket is fastened using the two factory bolts from the passenger side frame. Both brackets are snugged but not fully tightened initially (Steps 8–9). Additionally, on the passenger side, a bolt plate is placed inside the frame end and two M12 carriage bolts are passed through it and secured with M12 flange nuts (Step 10).
Eight M12 carriage bolts are placed into the new bumper and secured with bolt retainers (Step 7). When the bumper is slid onto the brackets, all eight carriage bolts must pass through the slots in both the passenger-side and driver-side brackets (Step 11). They are then secured with M12 flange nuts and snugged but not fully tightened until the bumper position is adjusted.
The factory wiring harness is routed through the large hole on the driver side of the bumper (Step 14), connected to the light, and the light is placed into the matching holes on the bumper (Step 14). The light is then attached using the factory nuts (Step 15). After installation, reconnect the wiring harness and test the light function (Step 18). Use the provided cable ties to fasten any loose wiring to the Jeep body.
The license plate bracket is first attached to the bumper using two M6 button head cap screws and two lock nuts (Step 17). The license plate is then fastened to the bracket using four M6 button head cap screws and four lock nuts (Step 16). Start all fasteners before tightening them fully.
M12 fasteners must be torqued to 58 ft-lbs. This applies to the carriage bolts and flange nuts securing the bumper to the brackets.
M14 fasteners must be torqued to 93 ft-lbs. The manual lists this specification but does not identify which fasteners in the kit are M14; verify fastener size before applying this torque value.
Use mild automotive detergent and water to clean the bumper. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish. Wax the bumper after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use polishes or waxes containing abrasives. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, non-abrasive polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval. Wax the bumper after installation and regularly thereafter to protect the finish. See the Notes and Maintenance section for cleaning and care instructions.
The manual does not specify which Jeep models and years are compatible. Contact ARIES Automotive at 877-287-8634 or check ariesautomotive.com to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
Yes. A torque wrench is required to properly tighten M12 fasteners to 58 ft-lbs and M14 fasteners to 93 ft-lbs. Proper torque is essential to ensure safe installation.
The manual does not mention drilling. All fastening points appear to use existing factory holes or pre-drilled holes in the bumper and brackets.
You need assistance. Help is required to remove the bumper from the Jeep and to slide the bumper with carriage bolts onto the brackets during installation.
No. The factory tow hook must be removed and will not be reinstalled. Its bolts are reused to attach the driver-side bracket.
Use mild automotive detergent and water. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, or wire brushes. Wax regularly after installation to protect the finish.
Yes. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify how often to inspect.
