For the conqueror in every truck, Jeep or SUV owner, the ARIES grille guard offers the tough, trail-ready look you demand. It begins with a one-piece frame of 1/4" thick welded plates and 1-1/2" mandrel-bent tubing for a solid build. Each one is made with a vehicle-specific design for a better fit, easier install and more secure mounting. The side brush guards are custom-bent to contour to the profile of your vehicle, while the mounting brackets are positioned for a no-drill application. This means pre-existing factory holes are used to ensure optimum fitment and less vibration. This particular custom grille guard fits specific years of the Jeep Grand Cherokee (see application info to verify). The ARIES grille guard also makes it easy to customize the look of your vehicle. Not only does the crossbar have two pre-drilled holes for mounting aftermarket LED lights, but many of our grille guards are also available in two finish options -- polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black steel. The stainless steel grille guard is made with 304 stainless, being high in nickel content and truly resistant to rust and corrosion. This option comes with a mirror-like polished finish for a definitive shine. The semi-gloss black grille guard is made with high-strength carbon steel for added strength. It features a tough, dual-layer E-coat and black powder coat finish to protect against rust, scratches and the elements. All ARIES grille guards also come with rubber stripping along the risers to protect the frame against scuffs and scratches.

First, remove the plastic splash guard under the front bumper cover. If your vehicle has factory tow hooks, remove both. If it does not have tow hooks, you must remove the air deflector and block-off covers. The procedure differs by model year: 2011-13 models require releasing clips at the bumper cover ends and removing three clips from the air deflector; 2014+ models require removing hardware from the inner fender panel and accessing clips from behind the bumper. Assistance is highly recommended.
No. Assistance is highly recommended for installation. The manual specifically states this in Step 1 and again when holding the Grille Guard in position during Step 4.
The kit includes: 1 Grille Guard, 2 driver/left and passenger/right side mounting brackets, 2 driver/left and passenger/right side top brackets, 2 10-1.5mm × 30mm button head bolts, 4 10-1.5mm × 35mm hex bolts, 4 10mm × 27mm OD × 3mm large flat washers, 4 10mm × 20mm OD × 2.5mm small flat washers, 4 10mm lock washers, 6 12-1.75mm × 35mm hex bolts, 2 10mm nylon lock nuts, 12 12mm × 32mm OD × 3mm flat washers, 4 6mm × 18mm OD × 1.6mm flat washers, 6 12mm lock washers, 6 12mm hex nuts, and 1 50mm × 400mm adhesive-backed foam tape.
Locate the two threaded holes in the bottom of the frame channel. Insert the frame mounting bracket through the opening with the mounting tab flat, then rotate it up into position to align with the factory threaded holes. Bolt each bracket to the frame channel using 2 10mm × 30mm hex bolts, 2 10mm large flat washers, and 2 10mm lock washers. Snug but do not fully tighten the hardware at this time. Repeat for both driver and passenger sides.
With assistance, hold the Grille Guard up to the outside of the mounting brackets. Attach it using 6 12mm × 35mm hex bolts, 12 12mm flat washers, 6 12mm lock washers, and 6 12mm hex nuts. Temporarily tighten the hardware at this time to hold the Grille Guard in position. Do not allow the Grille Guard to come in contact with the vehicle during this step.
Open the front hood and locate the factory 6mm hex bolt on each side securing the plastic cover to the radiator support. Remove the bolt. Use the included 6mm flat washers as spacers in the recess of the plastic cover. Apply adhesive-backed foam tape to the bottom of each top bracket to protect the plastic cover. Place the bracket on the washers and bolt it to the radiator support using the factory hex bolt. Then line up the mounting hole in the top bracket with the hole in the Grille Guard upright and bolt the bracket to the Grille Guard using 1 10mm × 30mm button head bolt, 2 10mm × 20mm small flat washers, and 1 10mm nylon lock nut. Do not tighten hardware at this time.
After aligning and tightening all hardware, slowly close the hood to check for clearance between the hood and the top brackets. Adjust the top brackets as necessary for proper hood closure. This is very important to ensure the hood closes correctly.
The frame mounting brackets should be snugged but not fully tightened in Step 3. The Grille Guard to mounting bracket hardware should be temporarily tightened in Step 4. The top bracket to Grille Guard hardware should not be tightened in Step 6. All hardware is fully tightened together in Step 8 after alignment and adjustment are complete.
Wax the product after installing to protect your investment. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. For stainless steel, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean it. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean the Grille Guard.
Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight. The manual does not specify a particular interval.
Yes. For vehicles without factory tow hooks, the air deflector removal procedure differs. 2011-13 models require removing factory hardware, releasing clips at the bumper cover ends, removing three clips from the air deflector, and removing block-off covers from each end of the air deflector. 2014 models require removing hardware from the inner fender panel and accessing clips from behind the bumper to remove block-offs. The block-offs on 2014 models are clipped only to the back of the bumper cover.
