The 2017-2022 Ford F250 & F350 Super Duty Trucks B&W Cab Protector, Black PUCP7502BA (Part #BQVLPUCP7502BA) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes one cab protector, one passenger side bed protector, one driver side bed protector, two mounting bracket spacers, one passenger side mounting bracket, one driver side mounting bracket, and hardware: four 5/16" X 1-1/2" carriage bolts, four 5/16" flat washers, four 5/16" lock washers, four 5/16" finish nuts, six 3/8" large flat washers, six 3/8" lock washers, six 3/8" finish nuts, two 1/2" X 1-1/2" cap screws, and two 1/2" lock washers.
Place the bed protectors on the pickup sides as shown in the manual. Ensure the bed protector flange is pushed tightly against the front of the bed and the inside of the bed sides. Measure across the truck from the center of the middle threaded stud on the driver side to the center of the middle stud on the passenger side. Then measure the distance between the two middle mounting slots on each side of the cab protector. The two measurements should be within 1/2" of each other. If they are not, the protector will not fit properly.
You will need a torque wrench capable of measuring 18, 20, and 80 ft-lbs, sockets in 1/2", 9/16", and 3/4" sizes, a 5/16" drill bit and drill, and wiring equipment.
You do not need to remove the covers completely. The mounting bracket flanges are designed to slip under the plastic bed rail covers. However, if your truck does not have a forward stake pocket hole in the plastic bed cover, you will need to pull up the plastic bed cover to gain access to the stake pocket. Replace the cover after the mounting bracket is installed.
1. Locate the driver and passenger side mounting brackets. Each bracket will be installed in the stake pocket with the threaded hole offset toward the cab. 2. Insert the bracket into the stake pocket, then angle the top of the bracket so one flange slips under the edge of the plastic bed cover. 3. Push the bracket under the plastic until the flange on the other side is past the edge of the stake pocket. 4. Push the bracket down so both flanges are against the metal body of the truck. 5. Pull the bracket so the flange on the other side is under the plastic. 6. Align the threaded hole in the bracket with the hole in the stake pocket until centered.
Yes. You must drill holes through the truck bed sides to mount the bed protectors. Before drilling, check under the bed rail in the area of each square hole in the bed protectors to ensure there are no lights, wires, or other obstructions. Push each bed protector against the inside of the truck bed sides and use the square holes as a pilot to drill through the truck bed sides using a 5/16" drill bit.
1. Drill the hole locations through the truck bed sides using a 5/16" drill bit, checking first for obstructions. 2. Install the 1/2" cap screw hardware: place the spacer block between the bed protector flange and the outside of the stake pocket, insert the 1/2" cap screw with lock washer through the bed protector flange and spacer block, thread it into the mounting bracket, push the bed protector toward the cab, and tighten to 80 ft-lbs. 3. Install the carriage bolts: insert a 5/16" X 1-1/2" carriage bolt in each drilled hole and secure with a flat washer, lock washer, and finish nut, tightening each to 18 ft-lbs.
Tighten each 5/16" X 1-1/2" carriage bolt to 18 ft-lbs.
Tighten the 1/2" cap screws to 80 ft-lbs.
Position the slots on the bottom of the cab protector over the threaded studs on the bed protectors. Fasten the cab protector with the provided 3/8" large flat washers, lock washers, and finish nuts. Before fully tightening, make sure the cab protector is centered with the truck as viewed from the rear. Then tighten the 6 nuts on the cab protector to 20 ft-lbs. Do not overtighten.

The wiring has not been installed correctly. Verify that the wiring splice is correct: Green wire for passenger side turning signal and braking, Yellow wire for driver side turning signal and braking, Brown wire for clearance, and White wire for ground. When installed correctly, the two outside lights will function as stop, turn, and tail lights while the inside two lights will only function as tail lights. Check the wiring connections and correct any errors.
Verify that all fasteners have been tightened to the correct torque specifications: 5/16" carriage bolts to 18 ft-lbs, 1/2" cap screws to 80 ft-lbs, and the 6 cab protector mounting nuts to 20 ft-lbs. Do not overtighten the cab protector nuts. If fasteners are loose, retighten them to the specified torque values. If the problem persists, check that the bed protectors are properly positioned and that the cab protector is centered with the truck.
