B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for durable, innovative towing products, including gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, and ball mounts. Built in Kansas by employee-owners, B&W products are engineered for dependable performance, easy installation, and long-lasting quality.
B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

Depending on the vehicle application, available options may include Class 3, Class 4 and heavy-duty receiver hitches with different gross trailer weight and tongue weight capacities.
A 2" x 2" receiver opening is one of the most common hitch sizes and works with a wide range of towing accessories, including ball mounts, bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps and tow hooks. When towing a trailer, you may also need a properly rated trailer ball, hitch pin, wiring harness, brake controller or weight distribution system.
CURT trailer hitches feature a durable black finish designed to help protect against rust, scratches and exposure to road conditions. Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.
Use our vehicle fitment tools to find the correct CURT 2" trailer hitch for your year, make and model. Always compare the hitch rating with your vehicle’s towing capacity and the ratings of every component in your towing setup. The maximum towing capacity is determined by the lowest-rated component.

Yes. Remove the spare tire before installation. This provides easier access to the frame during the installation process.
Remove the 14mm bolts from the rear of the frame. These bolts will be reused to secure the hitch in place during installation.
Possibly. Any brackets or accessories not critical to the vehicle structure that are mounted to the bottom of the frame at the rear may need to be removed. Bumper reinforcement brackets can be removed if the bumper will not be used for towing. Check the main diagram during Step 2 (positioning the hitch) to identify any interference before making modifications.
The hitch may require slight modification to the frame or other vehicle structure, such as drilling or relocating equipment, so that the hitch can be installed in the proper location. It is very important to verify you have the correct hitch for your application before making any modifications to the vehicle.
The hitch includes ½" x 1-½" long bolts, lock washers, nuts, spacers, and an optional trailer plug mounting bracket with two self-tapping sheet metal screws. The 14mm bolts removed from the frame are reused as part of the installation.
Assemble the hitch using the ½" x 1-½" long bolts, lock washers and nuts. Attach the side plates to the hitch center section with the "ears" of the side plates toward the outside as shown in the main diagram. Do not fully tighten the hardware at this time.
Position the hitch under the frame and align the slots in the rearmost side plate ears with the holes where the 14mm bolts were previously removed. Secure the hitch into place by reinstalling the 14mm bolts. Make sure the hitch is centered between the frame rails and that the receiver tube is parallel to the centerline of the truck.
Tighten in two stages: First, tighten the hardware on the connections between the frame and the side plates. Torque the ½" bolts to 80 foot pounds and the 14mm bolts to 135 foot pounds. Next, ensure the edges of the side plate mounting brackets on the center section match up with the bottom and rearward edges of the side plates, and tighten these connections to 80 foot pounds.
Torque the ½" bolts to 80 foot pounds. This applies to both the frame-to-side-plate connections and the side-plate-to-center-section connections.
Torque the 14mm bolts to 135 foot pounds. These are the bolts removed from the rear of the frame and reinstalled to secure the hitch.
Yes. An optional trailer plug mounting bracket has been included with this hitch. It is designed to accept many different receptacles on the market and is mounted using two self-tapping sheet metal screws. Be aware of ground clearance limitations that this bracket may add to the hitch.
Yes. Replace the spare tire after completing all tightening and installation steps.
Ensure the vehicle frame where the hitch will mount is free from debris or other material that may interfere with the installation. Clean the mounting area thoroughly before beginning installation.
Fitment is not specified in the manual. Verify compatibility with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing, providing your vehicle's year, make, model, cab style, bed length and drivetrain.
Yes. Remove the spare tire for easier access. Remove the 14mm bolts from the rear frame (these will be reused). Remove any non-structural brackets or accessories mounted to the bottom of the rear frame if they interfere.
1. Assemble the hitch with bolts, lock washers and nuts (do not fully tighten). 2. Position under the frame, align slots with frame holes, reinstall 14mm bolts. 3. Install remaining hardware with spacers. 4. Tighten: ½" bolts to 80 ft-lbs, 14mm bolts to 135 ft-lbs. 5. Optionally install trailer plug bracket.
Torque ½" bolts to 80 foot pounds and 14mm bolts to 135 foot pounds.
The hitch may require slight modification to the frame or vehicle structure, such as drilling or relocating equipment. Verify you have the correct hitch for your application before making any modifications.
Yes, an optional trailer plug mounting bracket is included with two self-tapping sheet metal screws. It accepts many different receptacles and is mounted in Step 5.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
