B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for durable, innovative towing products, including gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, and ball mounts. Built in Kansas by employee-owners, B&W products are engineered for dependable performance, easy installation, and long-lasting quality.
B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

Many models install using existing holes in the vehicle frame, although drilling, trimming or temporary removal of vehicle components may be required for certain applications.

The 2014-2023 Ram 2500 & 3500 Short Bed with Factory Bumper B&W Rcvr Hitch-2", 16,000# Boxed HDRH25502 (Part #BQVLHDRH25502) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The HDRH25502 is designed for 2014–2026 RAM 2500 and 3500 short bed trucks with a factory bumper. Your vehicle must be in original, as-manufactured condition. If your truck has replacement parts or other modifications, compatibility is not guaranteed. Inspect your vehicle for modifications before installation.
No. The HDRH25502 is designed specifically for short bed trucks only. Long bed models are not supported by this hitch.
No. The HDRH25502 is designed for short bed trucks with a factory bumper. Trucks without a factory bumper are not supported by this hitch model.
Before installation, verify that your truck is a 2014–2026 RAM 2500 or 3500 short bed with a factory bumper in original, as-manufactured condition. Inspect the vehicle for any replacement parts or modifications, as compatibility with modified vehicles is not guaranteed. Check the installation area under the frame for any brackets or accessories mounted to the bottom of the frame that may interfere with the side plates, as these may need to be removed.
Some RAM 2500 and 3500 models require spare tire removal to provide easier access to the frame during installation. Check your specific truck model before beginning installation.
Required tools are: impact wrench or ratchet with 3/4" sockets, 3/4" box end wrench, torque wrench capable of tightening to 80 ft-lbs, eye and ear protection. A flat head screwdriver is optional.
The kit includes: 1 driver side plate, 1 passenger side plate, 1 hitch center section, 6 spacers (3/16" × 1–1/4" × 1–1/2"), 4 spacers (3/16" × 1" × 1–1/2"), 2 locking straps (1/4" × 1–3/8" × 3"), 2 locking straps (1/4" × 2" × 2"), 4 carriage bolts (1/2" × 2"), 10 cap screws (1/2" × 1–1/2"), 14 lock washers (1/2"), 14 finish nuts (1/2"), and 2 fish wires (1/2" × 20").
The hitch has two configurations depending on your truck's factory equipment. For pickups with a factory receiver hitch, bolt the center section to the side plates using the bottom set of holes, with the receiver tube under the cross tube (Figure A1). For pickups without a factory receiver hitch or with the factory receiver tube cut off, use the top set of holes with the receiver tube on top of the cross tube (Figure A2). Choose the correct configuration before assembly.
Using the correct orientation for your truck (bottom holes for factory receiver hitch, top holes without), attach the side plates to the center section using eight 1/2" × 1–1/2" cap screws, lock washers, and nuts. Attach the side plates so the "ears" face outward. Do not fully tighten the hardware at this time; final tightening occurs after frame mounting.
The fish wire is used to thread carriage bolts through the locking straps inside the truck frame. The coil end of the fish wire is threaded through the locking strap hole, the carriage bolt is attached to the coil end, and then the fish wire is pulled to draw the bolt back through the locking strap. This allows secure frame attachment without direct access to the interior of the frame.
1. Locate the rear frame mounting holes on each side of the frame toward the rear of the truck. 2. Position a 1/4" × 2" × 2" locking strap inside the frame so its square hole is visible through the rear mounting location. 3. Pass a fish wire coil end first up through the hole in the locking strap, then out of the frame. 4. Thread a 1/2" × 2" carriage bolt onto the coil end of the fish wire. 5. Pull the fish wire and bolt back through the frame until the carriage bolt passes through the locking strap. 6. Ensure the square shoulder of the carriage bolt is fully engaged in the square hole of the locking strap. 7. Uncoil the fish wire and repeat on the other side.
1. Thread a 1/2" × 2" carriage bolt onto the coil end of a fish wire. 2. Position a 1/4" × 1–3/8" × 3" locking strap half-in/half-out in the side of the frame. 3. Pass the straight end of the fish wire through the locking strap and the hole in the side of the frame. 4. Angle the fish wire so it passes through the forward mounting location in the bottom of the truck frame. 5. Continue passing the fish wire through the frame until both the locking strap and carriage bolt are inside the frame. 6. Pull the threads of the carriage bolt through the locking strap and out of the frame. 7. Ensure the square shoulder of the carriage bolt is fully engaged in the square hole of the locking strap. 8. Uncoil the fish wire and repeat on the other side.
1. Place the hitch under the frame and lift until the holes in the ears of the side plates align with the bolts installed in the frame. 2. Secure these connections with 3/16" × 1" × 1–1/2" spacers, lock washers, and finish nuts. Hand tighten at this time. 3. Attach the side plates to the frame cross member brackets using 1/2" × 1–1/2" cap screws, 3/16" × 1–1/4" × 1–1/2" spacers, lock washers, and finish nuts. Install a spacer between the side plate and frame cross member bracket if needed.
Tighten all hardware on the connections between the frame and the side plates to 80 foot-pounds. Also tighten the connections between the center section and side plates (where the edges of the side plate mounting brackets on the center section match up with the rearward edges of the side plates) to 80 foot-pounds.
The manual does not specify the towing capacity. Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, the tow or tongue rating of the hitch, or the tow or weight ratings of your truck or trailer. See your vehicle and trailer manufacturer information for specific ratings.
Always use safety chains while towing. Crossing the safety chains under the trailer tongue may prevent some damage if detachment occurs. Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. Periodically inspect the hitch to ensure all fasteners are tightly secured. Understand all risks involved with towing before proceeding. For detailed towing safety information, consult "The Trailer Handbook: A Guide to Understanding Trailer and Towing Safety" from the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (www.NATM.com) and your trailer manufacturer's owner's manual.
When towing a wedge car trailer, keep the center of gravity as low as possible by loading heavy cars over the axles. Never tow with a single car on the front of the trailer. Never exceed speeds that are reasonable for the roadway conditions (such as turns or curves). Failure to account for proper trailer center of gravity and reasonable speeds may cause damage to the truck, trailer, towing components, and loss of attachment between the truck and trailer.
No. Do not modify this product in any manner. Doing so could alter its integrity and lead to a loss of attachment between the trailer and the tow vehicle.
After installation, ensure all wiring is secured so it will not be damaged while using the vehicle. Use wire ties or similar tie-down devices for any loose wiring. Verify that all fasteners are tightly secured by checking the torque on frame-to-side-plate connections and center section-to-side-plate connections (both should be 80 foot-pounds). Periodically inspect the hitch during use to ensure all fasteners remain tightly secured.
Periodically inspect the hitch, making sure that all fasteners are tightly secured. The manual does not specify a particular inspection interval, but regular checks are recommended to ensure safe towing.
Yes, if your truck is a 2014–2026 RAM 2500 or 3500 short bed with a factory bumper in original, as-manufactured condition. Long bed trucks and those without factory bumpers are not supported.
Impact wrench or ratchet with 3/4" sockets, 3/4" box end wrench, torque wrench (80 ft-lbs), eye and ear protection, and optionally a flat head screwdriver.
Some RAM 2500 and 3500 models require spare tire removal for frame access. Check your specific truck model before starting installation.
Use the bottom set of holes if your truck has a factory receiver hitch (receiver tube under cross tube). Use the top set of holes if your truck has no factory receiver hitch or the factory tube is cut off (receiver tube on top of cross tube).
Tighten all frame-to-side-plate connections and center section-to-side-plate connections to 80 foot-pounds.
Always use safety chains while towing. Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. Periodically inspect all fasteners to ensure they remain tightly secured.
Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
