B&W Trailer Hitches is an American manufacturer known for building innovative, dependable towing products designed to make hitching easier and towing more comfortable. The company began in 1987 in Humboldt, Kansas, when founders Roger Baker and Joe Works combined their fabrication experience to build custom truck beds and solve common problems faced by truck owners.
B&W changed the gooseneck hitch industry with the introduction of the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. Its under-bed mounting system and reversible hitch ball allowed truck owners to quickly store the ball beneath the bed, leaving a clean and unobstructed surface when the hitch was not in use. B&W later applied the same practical approach to the Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch, creating a removable fifth-wheel hitch engineered for a quiet, smooth, and secure towing experience.
Today, B&W manufactures gooseneck hitches, fifth-wheel hitches, receiver hitches, ball mounts, and towing accessories at its nearly 600,000-square-foot facility. The company is owned by approximately 500 employee-owners who remain committed to American manufacturing, trusted materials, skilled craftsmanship, and long-lasting product quality.
Whether you are towing a work trailer, livestock trailer, camper, or fifth wheel, B&W Trailer Hitches offers thoughtfully engineered towing equipment built to perform mile after mile.

The 2015-2023 Ford F150 - Except F150 Raptor, 2019-2020 F150 Limited, 2021-2023 F150 Limited with Dual Exhaust B&W Turnoverball Mounting Kit GNRM1121 (Part #BQVLGNRM1121) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The model 1121 fits 2015–2025 Ford F150 trucks in their original, as-manufactured condition. However, it does not fit F150 Lightning, F150 Raptor, F150 Tremor, 2019–2020 F150 Limited, or dual exhaust trucks. If your truck has replacement parts or other modifications, compatibility is not guaranteed and you should inspect the vehicle before installation.
Yes, the hitch can be installed on a truck with a spray-in bed liner. However, you must account for the thickness of the applied liner when measuring the 4" hole location. Add the thickness of the sprayed liner that covers the end of the bed to the standard measurement of 42–5/8" from the rear edge of the bed.
Yes, the hole can be cut through both the plastic bed liner and the truck bed. However, the manual warns that locating the center of the truck bed may be more difficult, and the mark may be harder to hit if the liner slides or moves. Failure to cut the hole in the correct location may adversely affect the installation and result in property damage.
Yes, the model 1121 is designed for both 8-foot long bed and short bed (less than 8 feet long) Ford F150 trucks. The 4" hole location is measured at 42–5/8" from the rear edge of the bed for both bed lengths. However, the manual warns that cab clearance on short bed trucks is very limited when towing certain trailers, so you must measure your trailer and verify adequate turning clearance between the trailer nose and the truck cab before installation.
The model 1121 comes equipped with a 2–5/16" ball. Trailers towed with this ball must have a 2–5/16" coupler. Towing with a larger coupler could cause loss of attachment between the trailer and the tow vehicle.
Required tools include: impact wrench or ratchet with 1/2" and 3/4" sockets, 1/2" and 3/4" box end wrench, marking tool (pencil or permanent marker), 4" hole saw, drill with 1/2" drill bit, flashlight, ear protection, eye protection, torque wrench, and tape measure. A lifting device is optional but recommended.
Removing the spare tire is optional. Following the vehicle manufacturer's instructions, you may remove the spare tire to provide easier access to the area where the hitch will be installed. If removed, you must replace it after installation is complete.
Lifting the vehicle is recommended. Installation requires the installer to work under the truck bed in the area of the rear axle. Lifting the vehicle makes this area more accessible and improves the installation process. Use only equipment designed for lifting and positioning vehicles for service.
Yes, drilling is required. You must cut a 4" diameter hole in the truck bed using a 4" hole saw or saber saw with a metal cutting blade. The hole location is measured at 42–5/8" from the rear edge of the bed at the center of the truck bed. Additionally, four 1/2" holes must be drilled through the bed for the safety chain U-bolts, using the holes in the center section as a guide and drilling through a low rib of the truck bed.
The 4" hole should be cut at 42–5/8" from the rear edge of the bed (measured at the tailgate end) and at the center of the truck bed (measured by dividing the distance between the wheel wells by two). The center of the hole will be at the intersection of these two measurements. This location applies to both 8-foot long bed and short bed trucks. If your truck has a spray-in bed liner, add the thickness of the liner to the 42–5/8" measurement.
If a fender liner is present and restricts the movement of the latch pin release handle, it is recommended that you modify it by cutting a relief slot or hole to allow the handle to move freely. If the liner was removed for installation, you must reinstall it after the hitch is installed.
Yes, if your truck is equipped with a heat shield attached to the bed above the rear axle, you must pry it off and discard it. The hitch will replace this heat shield as a barrier between the exhaust and the bed.
Yes, on some trucks, installation of the center section may be easier if the exhaust is lowered. To do this, remove the two 10mm cap screws that attach the exhaust bracket to the frame, just behind the rear passenger tire. After the center section is installed, you can reattach the exhaust bracket. If additional clearance is needed, an extra rectangular frame spacer is included for lowering the exhaust bracket.
All 1/2" hardware connections must be torqued to 110 ft. lbs. This includes the bolts attaching the side plates to the cross members, the carriage bolts in the forward and rear mounting holes, and the bolts securing the cross members to the center section.
The model 1121 uses 1/2" X 2" carriage bolts for the forward and rear mounting holes in the frame. The latch pin release handle is secured with a 5/16" X 3/4" carriage bolt (or optionally a 5/16" cap screw if wrench access is limited).
Follow this sequence: (1) Tighten the bolts that attach the side plates to the cross members first. (2) Next, tighten the carriage bolts in the forward mounting holes. (3) Then tighten the carriage bolts in the rear mounting holes. (4) Finally, torque all 1/2" hardware connections to 110 ft. lbs. Failure to follow this sequence may result in misalignment, which could affect hitch performance or cause property damage or serious injury.
Use a tape measure to check the distance between the Turnoverball hitch and the nearest bed brace. The distance between the hitch and the bed brace should be consistent on both the passenger side and the driver side. Adjust the hitch until the distance is the same from side to side. This ensures the center section is parallel with the axle, which is critical for proper accessory alignment and hitch performance.
Insert the handle through the slot in the end of the center section on the driver side of the truck. Align the handle eyelet with the square hole in the latch pin so the handle is in line with the latch. Secure the handle to the pin with the 5/16" X 3/4" carriage bolt and 5/16" locking flange nut. (The included 5/16" cap screw can replace the carriage bolt if wrench access on the cab side is limited.) Tighten the nut until secure, but do not over-tighten and deform the handle eyelet. The latch pin will not function properly if the handle is not installed correctly.
The polypropylene tape provides a barrier between the steel hitch components and the aluminum truck bed to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion. The tape is applied to the top of the center section in five strips: two on the edge opposite the raised portion, two across the edge closest to the raised portion (cut when crossing the raised portion), and one around the outside of the raised portion. Take care not to cover any holes.
First, identify which set of holes in the center section aligns with a low rib in the truck bed (the hitch may have more than one set of holes). From under the bed, use a 1/2" drill bit to drill through the bed using the four holes that match up with a low rib as a guide. Remove any burrs. From the top side of the truck bed, drop a U-bolt in each set of holes. Place a conical spring over each leg of the U-bolts and secure with a 1/2" lock nut. Tighten the lock nut until it is flush with the end of the U-bolt.
Before each tow, perform a visual inspection of the hitch. Verify that all pinned connections are secure and that all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification (110 ft. lbs. for 1/2" hardware). Check for cracks or damage to the hitch. Do not tow if cracks or damage outside of normal wear are found. Towing with a damaged hitch could result in damage to the tow vehicle, trailer, towing components, or loss of attachment between the tow vehicle and trailer.
To disengage (open): Pull the handle out all the way until it stops, then slide it toward the cab. The handle should stay in this position. To engage (close): Rotate the handle counterclockwise until the handle retracts and engages the 2–5/16" ball. When installed properly, the latch pin will pass through the 2–5/16" ball and fully engage through both walls of the hitch receiver. Do not operate the tow vehicle while the latch is in the open position, as the handle may come into contact with the rear tire, which may damage the tire or handle and could lead to serious injury or death.
Apply a light coating of grease to the corners on the square shank of the 2–5/16" ball.
No. Inverting the ball while hauling heavy loads may cause the ball to strike the truck's differential, drive line, or other components. You must inspect the relationship between the ball and truck components to ensure proper clearance. Failure to remove the ball when hauling heavy loads may result in property damage, injury, or death. A cover to prevent debris from entering the socket while operating without the ball in place is available from B&W.
Review all warnings on the front page of the installation instructions. Additionally, consult "The Trailer Handbook: A Guide to Understanding Trailer and Towing Safety" from the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (www.NATM.com) and your trailer manufacturer's owner's manual. Do not exceed the tow or tongue rating of the coupler, hitch, truck, or trailer. When towing a wedge car trailer, keep the center of gravity as low as possible by loading heavy cars over the axles, never tow with a single car on the front of the trailer, and never exceed speeds that are reasonable for the roadway conditions.
Regularly check that all bolted connections are at the correct torque specification (110 ft. lbs. for 1/2" hardware). The manual requires a visual inspection and torque check before each time you tow, but does not specify a retorque interval after initial installation.
The model 1121 fits 2015–2025 Ford F150 trucks in original condition, except F150 Lightning, Raptor, Tremor, 2019–2020 Limited, and dual exhaust models. Verify your truck has no modifications before installation.
Yes. You must cut a 4" hole in the truck bed at 42–5/8" from the rear edge at the bed center, and drill four 1/2" holes for safety chain U-bolts through the bed at low ribs.
Impact wrench or ratchet (1/2" and 3/4" sockets), box end wrenches, 4" hole saw, 1/2" drill bit, torque wrench, tape measure, marking tool, flashlight, and eye and ear protection. A lifting device is optional.
All 1/2" hardware connections must be torqued to 110 ft. lbs.
No. Operating the tow vehicle with the latch open may allow the handle to contact the rear tire, damaging the tire or handle and causing serious injury or death. Keep the latch engaged while driving.
Yes, but you must add the thickness of the sprayed liner to the standard 42–5/8" hole location measurement.
Removing the spare tire is optional but recommended for easier access. If removed, you must reinstall it after installation.
Perform a visual inspection before each tow: verify all pinned connections are secure, check all bolted connections are at 110 ft. lbs. torque, and inspect for cracks or damage. Do not tow if damage is found.
The gap between the bed flange and the frame may be narrower on some trucks than others. Most trucks have more clearance closer to the rear bed brace. If the cross members cannot be placed without damaging the paint, a small notch can be put in the bed flange for added clearance.
The latch pin will not function properly if the handle is not installed correctly. Verify that the handle eyelet is aligned with the square hole in the latch pin so the handle is in line with the latch. Ensure the handle is secured to the pin with the 5/16" X 3/4" carriage bolt and 5/16" locking flange nut, tightened until secure but not over-tightened (over-tightening can deform the handle eyelet).
If a fender liner is present and restricts the movement of the handle, modify the liner by cutting a relief slot or hole to allow the handle to move freely. If the liner was removed for installation, reinstall it after the hitch is installed.
Use a tape measure to check the distance between the Turnoverball hitch and the nearest bed brace on both the passenger side and driver side. The distance should be consistent on both sides. If not, adjust the hitch until the distance is the same from side to side. This ensures the center section is square in the truck, which is critical for proper accessory alignment and hitch performance.
When installed properly, the latch pin will pass through the 2–5/16" ball and fully engage through both walls of the hitch receiver. If the pin is not fully engaging, the hitch is not properly installed. Failure of the pin to engage the ball and hitch properly could result in a loss of attachment between the trailer and the tow vehicle. Do not tow until this issue is resolved. Verify the handle is correctly installed and aligned with the latch pin.
