The cover is designed to work with three truck rail styles: tapered truck rails, indented truck rails, and square truck rails. Shims may come pre-applied on the cover rails to achieve proper level installation on different truck styles. All areas where the bed cover mounts must be clean and free of debris prior to installation. When preparing to apply the bulkhead seal, clean the top of the bulkhead with soap and water to remove dirt and debris, then clean with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax or grease and evaporate any remaining water. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the seal.
1. Position and clamp the first cover rail near the front (within 12" of the end). 2. Position and clamp the second rail near the center. 3. Clean and apply the bulkhead seal. 4. Position the cover rail on the truck rail with the slotted bracket pushed toward the front/cab. 5. Rest the rolled cover onto the rails at the tailgate and roll toward the cab. 6. Insert mounting bolts into the slots and install mounting hardware loosely. 7. Test cover operation. 8. Align the front vinyl edge with the front edge of the cover rails. 9. Install the rear clamp near the tailgate. 10. Repeat steps for the driver side. 11. Verify cover rails are square to truck bed rails. 12. Check vinyl alignment in all four corners. 13. Verify latch engagement. 14. Tighten knobs and verify cover operation. 15. Check 1/8" gap on both sides. 16. Install D-shaped bumpers. 17. Mount strap clamps and secure cover straps.
All clamps (F) must be hand-tightened to 10 ft/lbs of torque using a 9/16" wrench or socket. This applies to the front clamp, center clamp(s), rear clamp, and strap clamps. Over-tightening the clamps can cause warping of the bed cap.
A gap of approximately 1/8" (3.2 mm) must remain on both sides of the cover between the edge of the cover rail and the rolling cover. This spacing is necessary to ensure that the locking rail secures to the cover. If the gap is more than 1/8", additional shims may be required.
When the clamp and rail are properly engaged, an audible click will be heard. The clamp teeth must fit squarely and fully engage the ribs of the cover rail. The clamps must be inserted as far up onto the rail as possible. If clamps appear improperly engaged, loosen the nut, adjust the clamp until you have full engagement of sections 1 & 2, and listen for the click sound.
Position the cover rail on the truck rail with the slotted bracket pushed all the way toward the front/cab and the bulkhead. If the truck is equipped with a drop-in bedliner, remove the foam pads located at the front of the slotted brackets. The cover rails must be square (90° angle) to the truck bed rails to allow the rear latch to engage accurately.
When correctly installed, the vinyl edges of the cover will align squarely with the cover rails in all four corners. The latch assembly will align with the rail locking levers at the tailgate on both sides. The front vinyl edge of the cover should align with the front edge of the cover rails (not the rubber seal). If side gaps are not even, align the cover side to side at the front and/or the back.
Open and close the cover several times to verify that it rolls freely. The cover should be square with the cover rails and roll freely between the rails. After tightening the knobs, recheck that the cover operates correctly. Close the cover and check that the locking levers are engaged and prevent the cover from being lifted on both sides.
The four D-shaped bumpers are installed on the cover slats to prevent the cover from contacting the cab. The bumpers, along with the strap clamps, secure the cover away from the cab and glass when the cover is rolled open.
When driving with the cover in the open position, roll the cover forward toward the cab, twist and insert the cover strap clips into the cover clasps on both sides. Ensure that both strap clamps are fully inserted into the clasps, then pull on the end of the strap to tighten. Both strap clamps must always be hooked to secure the cover.
Roll the cover toward the tailgate and rotate the tail rail down to lock the latches into the rotating locking levers. The locking levers and latches will make a click sound when engaged. The cover must be fully latched on both sides of the cover rails. Prior to vehicle operation, the truck bed cover must be properly secured.
Pull down on the latch release cable located on either side of the cover and rotate the tail rail forward into a rolling motion. When driving with the cover open, the cover must be rolled toward the cab and secured with both strap clamps.
Always wear protective gloves and handle components with care to reduce the risk of injury from sharp edges. Be mindful of pinch points when closing or operating the cover near solid surfaces such as truck bed rails or tailgate. Keep hands, fingers, and other body parts clear of moving parts during operation. Always operate the cover slowly and with caution.
During high temperatures or extended sun exposure, surfaces of the product may become hot to the touch, posing a risk of burns or injury. Use caution when handling the product in hot weather and allow time for it to cool before contact. Always check surface temperature before use to ensure safe handling conditions.
Before operating the vehicle, the tonneau cover must be either fully rolled open and secured with both T-hook buckles or fully rolled closed and securely latched down. Never operate the vehicle if the tonneau cover is not properly secured. A partially rolled or unsecured cover may detach during transit, risking vehicle or property damage and personal injury.
When transporting cargo that is taller than the truck bed, the cover must be fully rolled open and securely fastened with both retainer straps. To prevent the risk of entrapment, never allow anyone to be inside the bed of the truck when the cover is closed. Always ensure the area is clear before closing the cover, and keep the cover securely latched when not in use to avoid accidental closure.
Do not place objects on or against the cover or framework. Do not tie cargo to the truck bed cover or framework. Do not operate the vehicle with objects on top of the cover. Do not tow your vehicle from the rear with the cover on your vehicle. If towing from the rear is required, the cover must be removed from the vehicle and properly stored. Never allow children or pets to occupy the truck bed with the cover in the fully closed position.
After installation, verify that the cover is properly secured before operating the vehicle. Check that all clamps and retention mechanisms are tight and properly engaged. Verify that the latch assembly aligns with the rail locking levers at the tailgate on both sides and that latches fully engage the cover rails. Ensure the cover operates correctly by opening and closing it several times. Check that the 1/8" gap is maintained on both sides of the cover.
Clean the truck bed cover with mild automotive soap and water only. Avoid using abrasive cleaners as they may dull the finish. Do not use insect repellents, oils, solvents, or lubricants, as these could damage the rubber hinges and seals and void the warranty. Always read the ingredients of any cleaning product to ensure it is safe for use with rubber.
Periodically check that your cover is securely attached to your truck bed and working as intended. Inspect all hardware such as clamps and cover retainer clamps to ensure they are properly installed and working as intended. It is recommended that you regularly inspect and service each panel latch. The Revolver X2 carries a limited warranty for three (3) years from the original date of purchase. The Revolver X4s carries a limited warranty for five (5) years from the original date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship and is void if the product has been damaged in an accident, due to neglect, unforeseeable use, improper installation, improper servicing, or other cause not arising out of defects in material or workmanship. The warranty is not transferable to subsequent owners. Warranty registration must be on file and proof of original purchase is required for warranty to be effective.
The cover is not airtight. Special care is required to keep cargo clean and dry. To minimize water intrusion, ensure that all retaining clamps are tight and properly engaged to the side rails, the bulkhead seal is in place and the cover is resting on it, all latches are engaged to the side rails, and the side rails are installed flush with the top of the bed rail.

Improper engagement of the clamps can cause the rails to appear tilted inward. To fix this: loosen the nut on the affected clamp(s), adjust the clamp until you have full engagement of sections 1 & 2 (you will hear an audible click when properly engaged), and do not over-torque the bolt. Over-tightening the bolt can also contribute to tilted rails.
Water intrusion can be caused by several issues: (1) retaining clamps are not tight or not properly engaged to the side rails—tighten them; (2) the bulkhead seal is not in place or the cover is not resting on it—check and reposition; (3) latches are not fully engaged to the side rails—adjust them; (4) the side rails are not installed flush with the top of the bed rail—reposition the rails.
The cable could be pinched in or under the cable guide extrusion. To fix this: loosen the three screws on the center cable cover (bar) located in the middle of the panel, slightly lift up on the cable guide extrusion, and pull on both sides of the cable to free it.
The seal may be wavy when removed from the box. Allow ample sunlight for the seal to lay flat and relax. Alternatively, applying heat with a hair dryer or carefully with a heat gun will also smooth the seals.
