Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. Flat towing is the discipline Blue Ox is best known for. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Blue Ox tow bars handle the first two, with self-aligning arms that latch under tension and release without a struggle when the load is off them. Vehicle-specific baseplates handle the third, engineered per make and model to tie into structural mounting points behind the fascia.
The wider flat towing range covers supplemental braking systems, safety cables and the accessories that make a complete legal setup, along with baseplate wiring and dinghy towing harnesses that pass lighting signals to the towed vehicle without back-feeding its electrical system.
For conventional trailer towing, Blue Ox weight distributing hitches with integrated sway control transfer tongue load onto the tow vehicle's front axle and resist the yaw that crosswinds and passing trucks induce.

The BX88358 is designed for aftermarket bumpers with a tab thickness of 5/8" to 1" and a tab hole diameter between 0.996" and 1.06". Before purchasing, you must contact your bumper manufacturer to verify that your vehicle can be towed by the aftermarket bumper. It is your responsibility as the customer to confirm this compatibility.
The BX88358 has a 15,000 lb. tow rating with a 1" pin.
You need a 3/4" socket and a 3/4" wrench to remove the existing fasteners and install the new ones.
The kit includes: 6× 1/8" spacer bushings (107-3615), 2× 1" double lugs (110-0069), 2× 1/2"-13 x 2" hex head bolts (201-0645), 2× 1/2"-13 Essna jam nuts (202-0143), 2× quick pins (229-0829), 2× 1" diameter x 2-11/16" effective pins (229-0934), and 4× washers 0.523" ID x 1.363" OD (290-0381).
No. The installation is performed on the tow bar legs in place. You remove the existing 1/2"-13 bolt and jam nut from each tow bar leg, replace the lug and washers, and install the new offset double lug with the provided hardware.
The offset must be oriented towards the outside of the tow bar. The manual indicates this with a gray arrow in the installation diagram.
Tighten the bolt until the lug is tight against the washers but can still freely move side to side. This allows the lug to pivot and align properly with the bumper attachment point.
Use the supplied 1/8" spacer bushings between the bumper attachment plate and the lug if the plate is 5/8" to 7/8" thick. This ensures proper fit and alignment.
The bumper attachment tab hole diameter must be between 0.996" (minimum) and 1.06" (maximum) for use with the BX88358.
