The fascia, bumper, and windshield washer fluid reservoir must be removed during installation and reinstalled afterward. The driver side brace must also be removed and modified (lower arm trimmed off) before reinstallation. All removed components are set aside on a flat, sturdy surface and reinstalled after baseplate installation is complete.
Yes. Drilling is required. A 3/8-inch drill bit is used to drill multiple holes through the frame for baseplate mounting bolts. A 1-1/4-inch hole saw is used to drill an access hole on the passenger side only. All holes are drilled through the frame, and 3/8-inch nut plates are installed on the inside of the frame to secure the bolts.
Yes. A reciprocating saw is used to trim a notch on the driver side only for baseplate clearance. The driver side brace lower arm must be trimmed off and the brace reinstalled. Spacer tubes are used to maintain proper spacing between the baseplate and frame. The DS (driver side) spacer tube (3/4 inch x 3/4 inch length) is installed between the baseplate and frame at the 10MM bolt location on the driver side. The PS (passenger side) spacer tube (3/4 inch x 15/16 inch length) is installed between the frame and baseplate at the lower passenger side 3/8-inch bolt location. The two permanent baseplate safety cables must be attached from the baseplate to the frame rail or cross member of the vehicle's frame using the provided convenience link on the baseplate.
