Bulldog was founded in 1920 and has spent more than a century supplying the connection hardware that heavy trailers depend on. Its market has always been the demanding end: agricultural, military and utility applications where a coupler failure is not an inconvenience but a serious incident. Gooseneck equipment is the brand's signature. Gooseneck hitches mount in the truck bed over the rear axle, which places the load where the chassis can carry it properly and allows far tighter turning than a receiver hitch permits. Matching gooseneck couplers attach at the trailer end, in round tube and square configurations across the capacity range used by livestock, equipment and flatbed trailers.
The conventional trailer coupler range is built around the Wedge-Latch mechanism, which uses a wedge to take up wear between coupler and ball rather than relying on a fixed clamp that loosens over time. That matters on a trailer accumulating hard miles, where slack in the coupling shows up as noise and shock loading. Couplers are offered in A-frame form for standard tongues and in channel-mount form for straight tongue and fabricated frames, with adjustable channel versions that let a coupler be positioned to suit the tongue height.
Heavy-duty jacks complete the line, sized for the tongue weights that gooseneck and equipment trailers generate. The Bulldog® Velocity Series™ Jack is an electric trailer jack that raises and lowers trailers on hitch balls. It features a sealed, maintenance-free motor powered by the trailer battery and can be operated via a toggle switch or remote control. The jack includes a manual override port for emergency operation if power is lost.
Yes, the jack can be installed on aluminum trailers. However, it is recommended to use isolation pads between the contact points of the jack and trailer (including hardware) to reduce galvanic corrosion.
You must use either Option 1 or Option 2. Option 1 requires a minimum of four (4) ½" grade 5 fasteners, with one fastener on each side of the two mounting plates. Option 2 requires a minimum of four (4) U-bolts, utilizing a total of eight holes on the mounting plates (two on the upper section and two on the lower). Both options must be torqued to 50 ft-lbs.
The manual does not specify the tools required for installation beyond the manual override, which uses a 3/4" hex socket. For mounting, you will need tools appropriate to tighten the fasteners (either ½" grade 5 bolts or U-bolts) to 50 ft-lbs torque.

Connect the battery leads directly to the trailer battery: the red lead to the positive terminal post of the battery, and the black lead to the negative terminal post. Vehicle wiring will not provide adequate amperage for this product. Secure the battery leads with cable-ties, wire loom, or similar fasteners.

Route the remote control wiring pigtail from your desired location to the connector port located on the side of the motor cover. Firmly connect the remote pigtail to the connector port. Secure the remote wiring pigtail with cable-ties, wire loom, or similar fasteners to ensure there will not be any chaffing.
All mounting hardware must be torqued to 50 ft-lbs, whether using Option 1 (four ½" grade 5 fasteners) or Option 2 (four U-bolts).

Never position any part of your body under or on the path of any portion of the jack or the load being supported or moved. Do not allow children to play on or around the jack or the load. Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer from rolling by blocking the wheels when operating the jack or coupling the trailer. The jack is designed for vertical loading only; excessive side forces may cause jack failure and must be avoided.
Ensure the trailer battery is fully charged prior to use. Chock (block) the wheels of the trailer to prevent rolling.
Periodically check mounting hardware for proper torque and tighten if necessary. The motor is sealed and maintenance-free, but it is important to maintain the electrical system including the battery and charger (not included). Ensure all connections are tight and free of corrosion and that the jack is properly grounded with the coupler (metal-to-metal contact). Make sure the battery is fully charged prior to use.
If necessary, wash with mild soap and water and rinse thoroughly. Do not direct a high-pressure spray at the jack.
Always replace bent, broken, or worn parts before using the jack. Use only Cequent Trailer Products' parts or parts of equal quality for repair. To raise the trailer off the hitch ball, open the coupler and push the toggle switch in the "EXT" direction. This will extend the jack. To lower the trailer onto the hitch ball, push the toggle switch in the "RET" direction. This will retract the jack.
If electric power is lost, remove the cap on top of the plastic cover. Insert a 3/4" hex socket, crank clockwise to extend the jack or counterclockwise to retract the jack.
Yes. If hard-mounting the remote, identify a suitable location and secure the remote mount bracket with the hardware of your choice.
Do not remove the tamper-resistant screws that secure the motor assembly to the jack. Removal will cause sudden lowering of the trailer unless properly supported.
