Connect to your lifestyle with a custom hitch receiver from CURT. All of our custom hitches are designed for a vehicle-specific fit, manufactured with pride, finished for industry-leading rust resistance and tested to rigorous SAE J684 standards for safety. This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Audi A4 and A4 Quattro (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you?re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Required tools are: T-25 Torx driver, 3/4" socket, swivel extension, 12" extension, ratchet, rotary cutting tool, torque wrench, and silicone caulk.
The parts list includes: 2 bolt plates (CM-11186-BP), 4 carriage bolts 1/2-13 x 4 1/2", 6 hex flange nuts (HFN 1213), 2 carriage bolts 1/2-13 x 1 3/4", and 2 spacer plates 0.250" (CM-SP62).
Remove the spare tire and jack from inside the trunk. These must be reinstalled after hitch installation is complete.
No drilling is required. However, fascia trimming is required. You must use a rotary cutting tool to remove material from the lower part of the plastic bumper fascia as shown in the Fascia Trim Detail diagram.
The trim area is 3 1/4" wide and extends from the lower part of the plastic fascia. The centerline of the vehicle is 2.25" from the trim area. Use the Fascia Trim Detail diagram as a guide when using the rotary cutting tool.
1. Remove 3 screws holding the plastic bumper fascia. 2. Remove spare tire and jack. 3. Remove 2 rearmost plastic drain plugs from trunk pan. 4. Use rotary cutting tool to trim fascia material. 5. Install bolt plates and long carriage bolts on bumper support tubes. 6. Raise hitch into position and loosely secure with hex flange nuts. 7. Seal drain holes with silicone caulk and install spacer plates with short carriage bolts. 8. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs. 9. Reinstall outer fascia screws. 10. Reinstall jack and spare tire.
Install the bolt plates and 1/2-13 x 4 1/2" long carriage bolts on top of the bumper support tubes. While gently pulling the fascia down and rearward, align the slots in the hitch brackets with the long carriage bolts and loosely secure with hex flange nuts.
The 0.250" spacer plates (CM-SP62) are inserted into the drain holes in the trunk pan along with 1/2-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolts. They are secured from below with hex flange nuts after the drain holes are sealed with silicone caulk.
All 1/2" hardware must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs. This includes the 1/2-13 x 4 1/2" carriage bolts and the 1/2-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolts.
Loosely secure the hitch with hex flange nuts during initial positioning (Step 6). After all components are in place and the drain holes are sealed, torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs in Step 8.
After removing the 2 rearmost plastic drain plugs, seal the drain holes with silicone caulk. Then insert a CM-SP62 spacer plate and 1/2-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolt into each drain hole and secure from below with hex flange nuts.
