However you define adventure -- whether it's climbing onto the back of a mountain bike, hunting from the top of a tree stand or camping with the family a long way from nowhere -- CURT class 1 hitches provide a light-duty towing receiver to help you Bring It. Each is made to fit a specific vehicle, providing easier installation, a better fit and optimal towing capacity. Custom class 1 trailer hitches are available for a variety of smaller vehicle types, including the compact car, crossover, minivan and small SUV. This particular class 1 hitch is designed to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Hyundai Accent (to verify vehicle compatibility, see the CURT application guide at curtmfg.com). Tested in accordance with SAE J684, it offers a weight carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. It is equipped with 1-1/4" receiver tube opening to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch mount. This class 1 hitch also comes with all necessary mounting hardware. With its lightweight design and smaller receiver tube size, a class 1 hitch is especially useful for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier. They can also typically be used to tow small trailers such as a utility trailer, kayak trailer or teardrop camper (never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). Though CURT class 1 trailer hitches are only intended for light-duty towing, we apply the same principles of quality as we do to the rest of our rear mount hitches. Each class 1 hitch is made with hands-on engineering, high-strength steel and precise welding. We use a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat, inside and out, and durable black powder coat to provide a lasting defense against rust, chips and UV rays.

Yes, CURT hitch 11548 is designed for 2018-Present Hyundai Accent sedans. Confirm your vehicle matches this year range and body style before purchasing.
The hitch is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 2,000 lbs. and tongue weight of 200 lbs. when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
The hitch is designed for use with CURT ballmount 45521. Euro mount options are available: part 45571 (1 7/8" ball) or part 45572 (2" ball).
Required tools: ratchet, torque wrench, 14mm and 11/16" sockets, power drill, 1/2" drill bit, aviation shears, marker, straight screwdriver, Phillips bit and driver, tape measure, and safety glasses. Two people may be required to ease installation.
The kit includes: four 7/16" fishwire (part 7_16 FISHWIRE), four 0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers (part CM-SP2), four 7/16-14 UNC 1-1/2" grade 8 bolts (part 10-10282), and four 7/16-14 UNC grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00103).
Yes. You must temporarily remove the underbody panel on the driver side using a straight screwdriver and 14mm socket. Place it aside for later reinstallation. You will also need to remove the center bumper support bracket and loosen the two side brackets from the cover.
Yes, drilling is required. You must enlarge two existing mounting holes toward the rear of the vehicle using a 1/2" drill bit, and drill two additional 1/2" holes using the hitch as a template. All drilling is permanent.
Yes. You must trim 2 1/2" x 1 7/8" from the lower bumper cover. The cut should be centered on the vehicle. Use the trim diagram provided in the manual as a reference, with the recovery loop edge as a reference to align the cutout.
Fishwiring is a technique using the supplied 7/16" fishwire to thread bolts and spacers through enlarged holes from inside the vehicle frame. This allows you to position fasteners before raising the hitch into place. Four fishwires are included in the kit for this purpose.
1. Remove underbody panel, center bumper bracket, and loosen side brackets. 2. Enlarge two existing mounting holes with 1/2" drill bit and remove rubber plugs. 3. Trim lower bumper cover (2 1/2" x 1 7/8"). 4. Fishwire bolts and spacers into enlarged holes, raise hitch into position, and loosely install hex flange nuts. 5. Using hitch as template, drill two remaining mounting holes and fishwire remaining fasteners. 6. Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 59 lb.-ft. and reinstall underbody panel, rubber plugs, and side brackets.
All 7/16" fasteners must be torqued to 59 lb.-ft. This is the final tightening step after the hitch is positioned and all mounting holes are drilled.
Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation. If you are hesitant to undertake this task, contact an authorized CURT installer for assistance. Technical support is available at 877-287-8634.
No. All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT stabilizing straps part 18050. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. See the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com for further information.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the installation.
