A CURT trailer hitch is the key to pursuing your passions, whether you're taking the family boat out for an afternoon on the water or packing up the mountain bikes for a day on the trails. This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. This class 2 trailer hitch is finished with our industry-leading dual-coat process for unparalleled rust, chip and UV resistance. It is descaled for a smooth surface, submersed in liquid A-coat for rust prevention inside and out, covered with a highly durable powder coat, and finally co-cured for a dependable shield against the elements. This class 2 hitch comes with a ball mount, hitch pin and mounting hardware for a complete installation.

Call 888-634-9494Yes, CURT part 12154 is designed for 2018-Present Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross CUV models. The hitch is a weight-carrying receiver hitch with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.
CURT 12154 is designed for use with ball mount #45521 (euro mount). Optional ball mount options are #45571 (1 7/8" ball) and #45572 (2" ball).
CURT 12154 has a maximum trailer weight capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs when used as a weight-carrying hitch. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
No, drilling is not required. The installation uses existing frame holes and does not require any drilling, trimming, or cutting.
You will need: ratchet, torque wrench, 6" extension, 3/4" socket, 14mm socket, 17mm socket, and safety glasses. A torque wrench is essential because fasteners must be torqued to specific values (48 lb-ft for 10mm fasteners and 110 lb-ft for 1/2" fasteners).
You do not need to remove the exhaust system completely, but you must temporarily lower it. Remove the 2 rubber hangers by the muffler and 1 rubber hanger just forward of the muffler. Be sure to support the exhaust when removing the rubber hangers. You will reinstall these hangers after the hitch is mounted.
The tow loop is a factory component on the passenger side of the vehicle frame. If present, it must be removed during installation. Return the tow loop and its bolts to the vehicle owner after removal.
The kit includes: 4 carriage bolts (1/2-13 x 4 1/2), 4 hex flange nuts (HFN 1213, GR8), 2 hex bolts (M10 - 1.25 x 25), 2 conical toothed washers (3/8"), and 2 spacers (12154-SP).
Torque all 10mm fasteners to 48 lb-ft and all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft. When installing the conical toothed washers, ensure the teeth are against the hitch mounting plate.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person can help with positioning the hitch and managing the exhaust system.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing 3 rubber hangers (support the exhaust). 2. Remove the tow loop from the passenger side frame if present. 3. Place 2 bolts through each 12154-SP spacer plate and install through the frame. 4. Raise the hitch into position and slide bolts through to support it. Loosely install hex flange nuts and hex bolts with conical washers (teeth against mounting plate). 5. Torque all 10mm fasteners to 48 lb-ft and 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft. 6. Reinstall the canister fastener (if removed) and rubber exhaust hangers.
Yes, temporary removal of the fastener supporting the canister on the driver side frame rail will aid access during installation, but it is not required. If you remove it, you must reinstall it after the hitch is mounted.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads applied to this hitch must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. For more information, see the CURT catalog or visit www.curtmfg.com.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. This regular inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the hitch.
Safety glasses should be worn at all times while installing this product.

CURT 12154 complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
Yes, CURT 12154 is designed for 2018-Present Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross CUV. Maximum towing capacity is 3,500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight.
No, but you must temporarily lower it by removing 3 rubber hangers (2 by the muffler, 1 forward of it). Support the exhaust and reinstall the hangers after mounting the hitch.
Torque all 10mm fasteners to 48 lb-ft and all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft. Ensure conical washer teeth are against the hitch mounting plate.
All non-trailer (wheel-less) loads must be supported by CURT 18050 stabilizing straps. Failure to do so voids the warranty.
