This CURT class 2 hitch is perfect for towing a small trailer, such as a boat trailer, lightweight camper or utility trailer. It can also be used to mount a hitch cargo carrier or bike rack (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 2 trailer hitch is made for a vehicle-specific fit. It is engineered to seamlessly integrate with select years of the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager (see application info to verify fitment). It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. It is also equipped with 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" hitch receiver to accept the included ball mount. The ball mount that comes with this hitch kit has a 3/4" trailer ball hole and can be positioned in the drop or rise orientation for level towing with your specific trailer (trailer ball not included). Like all CURT custom receiver hitches, this class 2 hitch is designed, manufactured, finished and tested with the utmost care. It is engineered for a precise fit, easy installation, maximum towing strength and an integrated look on the vehicle. It is also tested to SAE J684 protocols for safety. The kit includes: four 1/2-13 x 1 1/2" carriage bolts, four CM-SP12 square hole spacers (0.250 x 1.00 x 2.00"), four HFN 1213 hex flange nuts, two 1/2" conical toothed washers, two M12-1.75 x 35mm hex bolts, and two 1/2" fishwire tools.
The installation kit includes two 1/2" fishwire tools for inserting hardware through frame access slots. You will also need a 17/32" drill bit if mounting holes require drilling, a socket or wrench set for 1/2" and M12 fasteners, and a torque wrench capable of 110 ft-lbs and 79 ft-lbs.
No full bumper removal is required. However, you must remove the rear-most bumper bracket bolts from the underside of the frame on both sides; these bolts are replaced during installation. The bumper bracket itself remains in place.
Drilling may be required. Each side of the frame has three mounting hole locations. On some vehicles, one or more of these holes may not exist and will need to be drilled. If drilling is needed, use the hitch as a template to mark hole locations and drill using a 17/32" drill bit.

The fishwire tools are used to insert the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame access slot and out the proper mounting holes. If the access hole is not available, you may enlarge the square hole in the frame or fishwire through the end of the frame rail behind the bumper. Note that a plastic flap is present in the frame that the hardware must pass by.
The rearmost carriage bolt should be installed in the available frame slot located between the bumper bracket bolts.
The M12-1.75 x 35mm hex bolts are installed through the hitch and into the bumper bracket, with a 1/2" conical toothed washer under each bolt.
All 1/2" hardware (carriage bolts and hex flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs.
All M12 hardware (the hex bolts connecting to the bumper bracket) must be torqued to 79 ft-lbs.
The manual does not provide the gross load capacity or towing weight specification. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-800-798-0813 for this information. Regardless of the hitch capacity, do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Non-trailer loads may be applied to this hitch only if they are fully supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself has a rated capacity, but your vehicle's capacity is the limiting factor. Consult your vehicle's owner manual for the maximum towing weight.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This is especially important before towing.
