It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. Position each mounting plate in the open portion of the frame rail with the weld nut toward the center of the vehicle. For ease of installation, tilt the mounting plate at 45 degrees when positioning it in the frame. Repeat this process for both the driver's side and passenger's side mounting plates.

Install a 2" hex bolt with lock washer and flat washer from outside the frame into the weld nut. 4. Repeat for the passenger side. 5. Raise the cross member to the mounting plates and install hardware as shown in the diagram. 6. Torque all fasteners to specification. 7. Return the spare tire to its proper location.
Do not tighten the frame bolts until after you have raised the cross member to the mounting plates and installed all hardware as shown in the diagram. This ensures proper alignment before final tightening.
Torque the 1/2" × 2" hex bolts to 75 ft-lbs. Torque the 1/2" × 2-1/2" hex bolts to 110 ft-lbs. Torque the 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs.
