Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Honda CR-V (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

The manual lists a gross load capacity of 3500 lbs trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight when used as a weight-carrying hitch. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Non-trailer loads may be applied to this hitch, but they must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch itself is rated for 3500 lbs trailer weight, but your Honda CRV's factory towing limit is the governing limit. Consult your vehicle's owner manual for the specific capacity.
Yes. Before installation, you must lower the exhaust system by removing two rear exhaust hangers and one hanger in front of the axle. After the hitch is installed and raised into position, you will reattach these three hangers. If the muffler interferes with the hitch, the exhaust hangers must be modified.
Drilling may be required. Specifically, the large frame hole may need to be enlarged to 1 1/4" to accommodate the 7/16" carriage bolt and spacer. The manual notes that drilling may be required, but the extent depends on your vehicle's existing frame holes.
The kit includes: four 7/16-14 UNC Grade 8 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00103), four 0.250 x 0.88 x 2.25" square hole spacers (CM-SP2), two 7/16-14 UNC 1-1/4" Grade 8 carriage bolts (10-10281), two 7/16-14 UNC 1-3/4" Grade 8 carriage bolts (10-10314), one 3/8-16 x 1.938 x 0.875" U-bolt (CM-3805-UBR), two 3/8-16 UNC Grade 5 serrated flange nuts (20-00099), and one 7/16" fishwire installation tool.

Torque all 3/8" hardware to 26 lb-ft.
1. Lower the exhaust system by removing two rear exhaust hangers and one hanger in front of the axle. 2. Use the 7/16" fishwire to thread a carriage bolt and spacer through the large frame hole (enlarge to 1 1/4" if necessary) and out the small front hole. 3. Remove the fishwire, then use it to thread a carriage bolt and spacer into the rear frame hole. Repeat for the driver side frame rail. 4. Raise the hitch into position and attach the 7/16" flange nuts. Torque 7/16" hardware to 70 ft-lbs and 3/8" hardware to 26 lb-ft. 5. Reattach the three exhaust hangers, modifying them if the muffler interferes.
The 7/16" fishwire is an installation aid used to thread the carriage bolts and spacers through the frame holes. You thread the bolt and spacer onto the fishwire, pull it through the large frame hole and out the small front hole, then remove the fishwire and repeat the process for the rear frame hole and driver side frame rail.
Thread the 7/16" carriage bolt and spacer onto the fishwire. Pull the fishwire through the large frame hole (enlarge to 1 1/4" if necessary) and out the small front hole in the frame. Remove the fishwire from the front bolt. Repeat this process by threading another carriage bolt and spacer onto the fishwire and pulling it into the rear frame hole. Remove the fishwire and repeat the entire process for the driver side frame rail.
You must remove the three exhaust hangers before installation. After the hitch is raised into position, reattach them. If the muffler interferes with the hitch, the exhaust hangers must be modified as needed to clear the hitch.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing inspection helps maintain the integrity and safety of the installation.
