Two preparations are required: (1) Remove the tie-down bracket located under the driver's side frame rail, and (2) Lower the vehicle's exhaust system enough to allow the hitch assembly to pass over the twin exhaust tips. Support the exhaust to prevent damage during this process.
Position the hitch under the frame rails and use the conical washers and metric fasteners provided to attach it to the existing weld nuts on the frame rails. Refer to the diagram in the manual for exact positioning. After attachment, raise the exhaust back into its original position.
