The kit includes: 1 trailer hitch, 4 carriage bolts (7/16" - 14 x 1.5", grade 8), 4 spacers (0.25" x 0.88" x 2.25"), 4 serrated-flange nuts (7/16" – 14), and 4 fishwires (7/16").
The fishwire technique guides the carriage bolts and spacers through the vehicle frame rails via access holes, preventing loss of hardware inside the frame. You insert the coiled end of the fishwire through the hitch mounting hole and out the access hole, pass it through the spacer, thread the bolt into the coil, kink the wire to keep the spacer separate from the bolt, then pull the fishwire, spacer, and bolt back through the frame and out the mounting hole.
1. Use the 7/16" fishwire to pull the carriage bolt and spacer through the access hole in the bottom of the frame rails and leave them in the frame. 2. Trim the center of the bumper cover using the end of the texture as a guide and the diagram for reference. 3. Raise the hitch into position feeding the fishwires through the mounting holes in the hitch. 4. Pull the hardware out of the frame and secure the hitch with 7/16" nuts. 5. Torque all 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs.
All 7/16" hardware must be torqued to 59 ft-lbs.
