A CURT front trailer hitch allows you to use the front end of your vehicle for a variety of towing applications. They can be used for mounting a winch, a snow plow, a number of towing accessories and can even be used for some trailering applications. When space is limited, a front trailer hitch is commonly used to hold a cargo carrier, freeing up space inside the vehicle for extra cargo and making the rear mount receiver available to pull a trailer. At the boat ramp, your boat trailer can be hitched up to the front receiver hitch, giving you better control over the trailer as you launch. Some of the other accessories that can be used with a front tow hitch are the CURT winch mount, step pad, license plate holder, spare tire mount, skid shield and tow hooks. All CURT front trailer hitches provide a useful receiver tube to accept a 2" x 2" shank, and they are commonly used on trucks, vans and SUVs. This front trailer hitch is rated for 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. It also has a straight-line pull rating of 9,000 lbs. It is designed to be a custom trailer hitch for certain years of the Honda Pilot and Ridgeline (to verify your vehicle compatibility, see application info). It comes with all necessary hardware for a complete installation and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The CURT 2" Front Receiver Hitch, Select Honda Pilot, Ridgeline Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK33328) fits the following vehicles: 2003-2008 Honda Pilot; 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
The CURT 2" Front Receiver Hitch, Select Honda Pilot, Ridgeline Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK33328) fits 2003-2008 Honda Pilot models. The 2014 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The CURT 2" Front Receiver Hitch, Select Honda Pilot, Ridgeline Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK33328) Drilling is not required for installation. Typical installation time is 30-60 minutes. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The maximum line pull capacity is 9,000 lbs when used as a straight line pull. However, you must not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The hitch weighs 60 lbs.
Yes, the Curt 33328 is designed for Honda Pilot and Ridgeline. However, the fascia trimming procedure differs by model year: use Trim Diagram A for 2011 and older models, and Trim Diagram B for 2012 and newer models.
Required tools are: ratchet, 6" extension, torque wrench, small screwdriver, 10mm socket, 17mm socket, 11/16" socket, and pry bar.
Yes. The first installation step is to remove the lower plastic fascia from the vehicle by removing all push button fasteners with a screwdriver. The fascia is then modified and reinstalled after the hitch is mounted.
No drilling is required. However, trimming of the underbody panel is required. Use Trim Diagram A for 2011 and older Honda Pilot/Ridgeline models, and Trim Diagram B for 2012 and newer models. The manual notes that dimensions are approximate and you should confirm fit prior to trimming.
The fishwire technique is used to route 7/16" bolts and spacers through the round support beam and into the slotted hole. The 7/16" fishwire is just long enough to reach through. The square hole spacers must be oriented lengthwise in the support beam so the bolts penetrate far enough through the hitch. The bolts are then attached with flange nuts.
Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 70 lb-ft and all 12mm fasteners to 86 lb-ft. These fasteners should be tightened after the hitch is fully aligned and loosely installed.
The kit includes: (4) M12x1.25 hex cap screws with conical tooth washers for the front holes connecting to the bumper beam; (2) 7/16" bolts with square hole spacers and flange nuts for the round support beam connection. The 12mm fasteners replace existing fasteners removed from the stiffening arms. The 7/16" bolts are routed through the round support beam using the fishwire technique.
The GAWR is the maximum weight your vehicle's front axle can safely carry. You must not exceed your vehicle's GAWR when using the front hitch. Exceeding GAWR may overload the front axle and/or suspension, which could result in accident, property damage and personal injury. Find your GAWR in your owner's manual or on the specification plate on your driver's door frame. Measure gross front axle weight by placing the front wheels of your loaded vehicle on a scale.
No. Never use a ball mount as an anchor point for a tow strap or winch cable. Severe personal injury or death could result. Use OEM tow hooks, recovery eyes, or a clevis mount for attachment of a tow strap or winch cable.
For maximum line pull rating, the winch cable must not exceed 15 degrees angle up or down from horizontal, and must not exceed 45 degrees angle left or right from straight ahead. Exceeding these angles may overload the winch, winch mount, and/or front mounted receiver.
Attach the return cable to the tow hook or recovery eye when using a snatch block. Do not attach the return cable to the winch mount, as this may overload the winch mount and/or front mounted receiver.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This ongoing maintenance is important for safe operation.
When using front-mounted accessories with the Curt 33328: (1) do not obstruct the vehicle's lights; (2) allow free air flow into the grille opening; (3) reposition the front-mounted license plate if obstructed; (4) be aware that accessories extend the front of the vehicle and may reduce approach angle—use caution when parking and maneuvering; (5) do not obstruct the driver's view; (6) note that rear wheel traction may be reduced, which could affect handling—reduce speed and drive with caution.
The Curt 33328 fits Honda Pilot and Ridgeline. Fascia trimming differs by model year: use Diagram A for 2011 and older, Diagram B for 2012 and newer.
No drilling is required. Trimming of the underbody panel is required using the appropriate diagram for your model year.
Required tools: ratchet, 6" extension, torque wrench, small screwdriver, 10mm socket, 17mm socket, 11/16" socket, and pry bar.
Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 70 lb-ft and all 12mm fasteners to 86 lb-ft.
Maximum line pull is 9,000 lbs, but do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity or front axle GAWR.
