The Curt 58925 is designed to fit the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and GMC Envoy. If you own one of these vehicles, the harness is compatible. The kit includes vehicle-specific plugging diagrams for the Chevrolet Trailblazer/Buick Rainier and GMC Envoy, so installation steps vary slightly by model.
The kit includes: (1) Wiring Harness with 4-Flat Connector, (1) 48" 4-Flat Extension, (20) 15" Cable Ties, (1) 4-Flat Bracket, (3) #8 Self-Tapping Ground Screws, (1) Cable Tie Mounting Pad, (2) Male Connectors, (2) Female Connectors, and (6) Jumper Wires.
You will need a Phillips screwdriver (to remove taillight screws), a small screwdriver (to push purple locks on connectors into place), a drill with a 3/32" bit (to drill two holes for the bracket and one hole for the ground screw), and a fish tape (to route the 4-Flat harness through the wheel well). Cable ties are provided in the kit.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws that hold the taillight to the vehicle on both sides. The vehicle's taillight connectors will be the same connectors that are on the RV Harness. Unplug these connectors and inspect them for dirt and debris, cleaning if necessary before proceeding.
The kit includes Male and Female connectors and White Jumper Wires that must be plugged to the RV Harness in a specific way depending on your vehicle. Refer to the plugging diagrams on page 2 for your vehicle model (Chevrolet Trailblazer/Buick Rainier or GMC Envoy). Position the terminals into the connectors as shown, then use a small screwdriver to push the purple locks into place once all wires are plugged in.
For the driver side: Position A (Brown Wire), B (White Jumper), C (White Jumper), D (Yellow Wire), E (White Jumper) into the Female Connector, and the same into the Male Connector. For the passenger side: Position A (Brown Wire), B (White Jumper), C (White Jumper), D (Green Wire), E (White Jumper) into the Female Connector, and the same into the Male Connector.
For the driver side: Position A (Yellow Wire), B (White Jumper), C (Brown Wire), D (White Jumper), E (White Jumper) into the Female Connector, and the same into the Male Connector. For the passenger side: Position A (Green Wire), B (White Jumper), C (Brown Wire), D (White Jumper), E (White Jumper) into the Female Connector, and the same into the Male Connector.
Once the Male and Female connectors are plugged to the RV Harness, position the RV harness connectors containing Yellow wires between the separated vehicle harness connectors on the driver's side. Press the connectors firmly into the vehicle connectors until they lock into place. Pull on the connectors to ensure the locks are engaged.
Yes, drilling is required in two locations. First, you must drill a 3/32" hole in a clean metal surface near the RV harness ends to mount the ground screw (Step 5). Second, you must drill two 3/32" holes in the engine compartment along the driver's side in front of the battery to attach the 4-Flat bracket (Step 14). Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surfaces.
Locate a clean and accessible mounting location on the vehicle near the RV harness ends within reach of the white wire and ring terminal. Remove any debris or undercoating to expose a clean metal surface and drill a 3/32" hole. Attach the ring terminal on the White wire using the ground screw provided.
Route the portion of harness with the T-Connector ends containing Green wire to the passenger side around the spare tire and secure it along the rear frame rail with cable ties. Then plug the connectors into the vehicle connectors on the passenger side following the same procedure as the driver's side (press firmly until they lock, then pull to ensure locks are engaged).
Cut the cable ties on the 4-Flat portion of the harness. Starting from the taillight connectors, route the harness towards the brake lines and frame rail, securing it with cable ties and ensuring there is no slack. Continue routing the 4-Flat along the brake lines and frame rail to the front of the vehicle near the driver's side front wheel well, securing it along the way with cable ties.
Make sure to avoid areas that contain moving parts or could cut, pinch or burn the wires when routing the 4-Flat harness towards the front of the vehicle. Also avoid routing the harness near fuel lines as it may cause fuel to ignite. Failure to follow these warnings may cause property damage, personal injury or loss of life.
In the area between the frame rail and driver's side wheel well, attach the cable tie mounting pad as shown in Figure 3 and secure the 4-Flat with cable ties. Starting at the top of the driver's side wheel well, route a fish tape up and over to the bottom right of the wheel well (it may be necessary to remove clips on the wheel well cover). Attach the 4-Flat to the fish tape and pull it to the top of the wheel and out through the opening. Route the fish tape up through the opening on the bottom left corner to the opening on the top and pull the 4-Flat to the front of the wheel well. Replace any clips removed.
Route the 4-Flat from the bottom of the driver's side wheel well to an area on the frame rail suitable for mounting the 4-Flat bracket. Locate the area in the engine compartment along the driver's side in front of the battery. Drill two 3/32" holes and attach the bracket using two screws. Take care not to drill through the vehicle body or any exposed surfaces.
With the 4-Flat extension plugged into the RV harness on one end and the motorhome on the other, test that the functions work on your Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, or GMC Envoy. These functions will only work on the brake/tail combination lamp.
The 4-Flat Harness Color Code is: White = Ground, Brown = Tail Lights, Green = Right Turn and Brake Signal, Yellow = Left Turn and Brake Signal.
When not in use, store the 4-Flat extension in the vehicle's glove box.
At the rear of the vehicle, secure any loose wires to the vehicle's crossmember using the cable ties provided in the kit.
