The CURT under-bed Double Lock gooseneck hitch is strong, fast and easy to operate. It gets its name from the two locking pins that engage the trailer ball and hold it in place, giving you twice the security when towing especially heavy trailers. The Double Lock mounts underneath your truck bed with compatible gooseneck installation brackets and provides a removable 2-5/16" gooseneck trailer ball with a gross trailer weight capacity up to 30,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. Using the heavy-duty operating handle, the trailer ball can be unlocked and flipped over whenever necessary to allow full use of the truck bed. The Double Lock comes with solid safety chain hookups, an attractive chrome trim ring, a durable A-coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty. The C-615 kit includes: 2 safety chain loop assemblies (CM-C60-CLA), 1 turnover gooseneck ball (60616), 1 handle rod (CM-C60-R), 1 compression spring (CM-C60-CS), 1 chrome ring (CM-C600-CR), 1 rubber cover (66165), 1 cast lock pin (CM-C-600-CLP), 1 vinyl handle grip (CM-C-60-H), and associated fasteners including U-bolt springs, washers, nuts, and bolts as detailed in the parts list.
Use this formula: (cab to ball center distance) minus (half the trailer width) equals minimum clearance. If the result is positive, the trailer will not interfere. If negative, it will interfere. If your trailer has a coupler overhang, use: [(cab to ball center) minus (coupler overhang)] minus (half trailer width). For example, a 36-inch wide trailer with 35 inches cab-to-ball distance results in -1 inch clearance (interference). Tapered nose trailers typically taper from 8 ft wide to 6 ft at the coupler, or 7 ft wide to 5 ft at the coupler.
