Whatever the next checkpoint is on your adventure -- whether it's getting your bike on the trail before sunrise or making it to the campground before dark -- CURT class 2 hitches let you Bring It with confidence. These receiver hitches are made to handle most light-duty towing applications and offer a custom fit for your vehicle. Typically used on full-size cars, crossovers, compact SUVs, minivans or even compact pickup trucks, a CURT class 2 trailer hitch complements the design of smaller vehicles. This particular class 2 hitch is made to be a custom hitch for certain years of the Buick Allure, Century, LaCrosse and Oldsmobile Intrigue (to verify vehicle compatibility, see application info). It offers a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. Class 2 trailer hitches can typically be used to tow a variety of lightweight trailers, such as a small utility trailer, small fishing boat trailer or popup camper (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component). They are also perfect for adding cargo space to your vehicle with a bike rack or cargo carrier. This class 2 hitch features a 1-1/4" receiver tube to accept a ball mount shank or other hitch-mounted accessory. For safety, it is tested in accordance with SAE J684. A custom trailer hitch design requires extra care, and as such, CURT class 2 hitches are engineered using real vehicles and hands-on research. We use high-strength steel, robotic welding and rigorous testing to produce hitches that are built to fit your lifestyle. To ensure that each hitch will be a reliable extension of your vehicle, we also finish our hitches in a co-curing of liquid A-coat and black powder coat, giving them long-lasting rust and wear resistance.

CURT offers a variety of high-quality trailer hitches and accessories for select vehicle models. Find the perfect fit for your towing needs at TowUniverse.

The manual lists a gross load capacity when used as a weight-carrying hitch, but the specific weight values are not printed in this copy of the manual. Contact Curt Manufacturing technical support at 1-877-287-8634 for the exact towing and tongue weight capacity. Do not exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.

Yes. Step 1 requires you to detach 4 rear rubber exhaust hangers from the frame and lower the exhaust system to access the frame rails for installation. The exhaust hangers are reinstalled in step 6 after the hitch is secured.
Yes, drilling is required. Step 4 requires you to drill 2× 1/2" holes in the side of the frame rails using the hitch as a template. This is a permanent modification to the vehicle frame.
Fascia trimming may be required on Buick LaCrosse "Super" models. Check your vehicle after positioning the hitch. If the fascia interferes, trimming will be necessary.
1. Detach 4 rear rubber exhaust hangers and lower the exhaust system. 2. Use fishwire to thread carriage bolts and spacers through frame rail access holes. 3. Raise the hitch into position and finger-tighten with flange nuts. 4. Drill 2× 1/2" holes in the frame rail sides using the hitch as a template. 5. Check side-to-side clearance; install 1/2" washers as needed to eliminate gaps. Insert 1/2" hex bolts and lock washers through the frame and secure with handle nuts. 6. Reinstall exhaust hangers. For LaCrosse, use 7/16" hex bolts, spacers, and flange nuts. 7. Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft and all 7/16" fasteners to 42 lb-ft.
Fishwire fasteners are flexible wires used to thread carriage bolts and spacers through access holes in the frame rails before the hitch is raised into position. In step 2, you thread the 1/2" fishwire (included) through the access holes, attach the carriage bolts and spacers to it, and pull them through to the other side. This allows you to position the fasteners before the hitch is in place.
The installation diagram shows two sets of holes on the frame rails: one labeled "USE THIS HOLE ON LACROSSE" and another labeled "USE THIS HOLE ON CENTURY & INTRIGUE". Use the hole marked for your specific vehicle model. The LaCrosse installation also uses 7/16" hex bolts, spacers, and flange nuts to lower the exhaust system, whereas other models use different fasteners.
Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 lb-ft and all 7/16" fasteners to 42 lb-ft. This applies to all bolts, nuts, and hex cap screws in the assembly.
Step 5 instructs you to check side-to-side clearance between the hitch and frame. If a gap exists, install 1/2" flat washers between the hitch and frame as necessary to eliminate the gap before inserting the 1/2" hex bolts.
All non-trailer loads applied to this hitch must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty. Do not rely on the hitch alone to support non-trailer loads.
No. The manual explicitly states: "DO NOT EXCEED VEHICLE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED TOWING CAPACITY." Even if the hitch has a higher capacity, you must follow your vehicle manufacturer's limits.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This is an ongoing maintenance requirement, not a one-time check.
