It provides a weight carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs. GTW and 350 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 5,000 lbs. WD and 500 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. Yes, you must lower the spare tire before beginning installation. After the hitch is installed and all fasteners are torqued, raise the spare tire back into position.
The heat shield must be trimmed or modified to ensure it will not interfere with the spare tire when raised back into position. The manual notes that heat shields should not be removed from the vehicle.

You must disconnect 3 rubber exhaust hanger brackets on each side of the vehicle: two forward and one rearward of the muffler. These are reconnected after the hitch installation is complete.
Carefully cut off the lower stud on each side as close to the vehicle as possible without removing the bracket. Do not cut off the two upper studs. After cutting, re-install the exhaust hanger brackets using 2 of the 3 nuts removed earlier, ensuring the square hole in the bracket aligns with the retaining clip on the vehicle.
The 0.250 x 1.00 x 2.00" square hole spacer (part CM-SP12) is included in the kit. According to the install notes, a 1/2" block is used as a spacer for re-installing the air pump if it has been temporarily removed.
Only if your vehicle is equipped with an air pump mounted on the passenger side frame rail. If present, temporarily remove the pump by removing the 2 bolts that secure it to the frame. Retain these fasteners for reinstallation after the hitch is installed. Use a 1/2" block as a spacer when re-installing the air pump.
Raise the hitch into position and install the M12 bolts with 1/2" conical toothed washers as shown in the diagram. The washers are part 30-00149. After installation, torque all M12 fasteners to 79 lb-ft.
The hanger bracket must be oriented so that the square hole in the bracket aligns with the retaining clip on the vehicle.
Heat shield modification may be necessary for ease of installation. If required, trim or modify the heat shield as shown in the diagram. Do not remove heat shields from the vehicle. Ensure the heat shield will not interfere with the spare tire when raised back into position.

Yes, a compatible bike rack, cargo carrier or other accessory with a 2" x 2" shank can generally be used. Make sure the accessory does not exceed the hitch’s tongue weight rating, the vehicle’s limits or the accessory manufacturer’s capacity. Account for the combined weight of the carrier and everything loaded onto it.
