Remove the access panel by using a 7mm socket to remove the 2 screws, then pull the access panel straight down and away from the vehicle. Set the panel and screws aside for reinstallation.
Use the fishwire technique to route 3 CM-SP2 spacers and 3 carriage bolts through the access hole and out the mounting holes on each side of the vehicle. The manual references a fishwire technique diagram for detailed routing instructions. Raise the hitch into position and secure with 3 flange nuts on each side.
All 7/16" hardware must be torqued to 70 ft-lbs using an 11/16" socket.
When the hitch is not in use, reinstall the access panel that was removed in step 1. Use the original 2 screws to secure it.
