It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 750 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 750 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

Yes, CURT part number 13418 is designed for 2019-Present Chevrolet Blazer SUVs. Verify your vehicle matches this year range and model before purchasing.
When used as a weight-carrying hitch, the CURT 13418 supports a maximum of 5,000 lbs trailer weight and 750 lbs tongue weight. When used as a weight-distribution hitch, it supports 6,000 lbs trailer weight and 750 lbs tongue weight. You must never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than these ratings.
The hitch weight is 40 lbs.
You will need: a ratchet, a torque wrench, 7mm and 3/4" sockets, a T-15 Torxbit socket, an 8" socket extension, and safety glasses. Safety glasses must be worn at all times during installation.
The kit includes: 6 bolts (part 10-10287, 1/2-13 UNC, 1-1/2", Grade 8, yellow zinc), 6 pieces of 1/2" fishwire, 6 spacers (CM-SP10, .250 x 1.00 x 2.50" square hole), and 6 serrated flange nuts (part 20-00062, 1/2-13 UNC, Grade 8, yellow zinc).
No, drilling is not required. The CURT 13418 uses fishwire hardware to thread through existing access holes and mounting holes on the vehicle frame.
Two people may be required to ease installation. While one person may be able to complete the installation, having a second person will help with handling the hitch and supporting components during the process.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Contact CURT Technical Support at 877-287-8634 for clarification on this step.
The first step is to unfasten the rear vehicle brackets from the fascia using a T-15 Torxbit socket to remove 2 screws. Set these screws aside for reinstallation. Then lower the exhaust by removing 3 hangers. Support the exhaust when lowering to avoid damage.
Remove the access panel by removing 2 wing nuts, then pull the access panel down and away from the vehicle and set it aside. Fishwire 3 CM-SP10 spacers and 3 1/2" carriage bolts through the access hole and out the mounting holes on each side of the vehicle. This allows you to thread the hardware through without drilling.
Raise the hitch into position and secure it with 3 1/2" flange nuts on each side (6 nuts total). Use a 3/4" socket and torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs.
All 1/2" hardware (bolts and flange nuts) must be torqued to 110 ft-lbs using a 3/4" socket.
After securing the hitch with the flange nuts and torquing to 110 ft-lbs, reinstall the vehicle bracket hardware and exhaust system as they were removed in Step 1. When the hitch is not in use, reinstall the access panel that was removed in Step 2.
Periodically check the receiver hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound. This maintenance is important for safe towing.
Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The CURT 13418 is rated for up to 5,000 lbs (weight-carrying) or 6,000 lbs (weight-distribution) trailer weight, but your vehicle's manufacturer may specify a lower limit that must be observed.
Supporting the exhaust when lowering it prevents damage to the exhaust system. The manual specifically notes this to avoid costly repairs.
CURT rates the installation difficulty as Easy. The manual estimates a novice DIY installation takes 40 minutes and a professional installation takes 20 minutes. However, if you are hesitant to undertake this task on your own, you should contact an authorized CURT installer for additional assistance.
