Attach the hitch to the forward side of the existing vertical weld nut plate using two M12 bolts, one on each side. The hitch uses this factory weld nut plate as its primary attachment point to the frame rail.
1. Remove left and right gravel shields and lower all exhaust hangers. 2. Attach the hitch to the existing vertical weld nut plate using M12 bolts. 3. Pull the fascia rearward and drill four holes in the aluminum bumper beam using the hitch as a template. 4. Use fishwire to thread the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers through the open end of the bumper into the drilled holes, then fasten with flange nuts. 5. Torque fasteners and reattach exhaust and gravel shields.
Fishwire is a flexible wire included in the kit (part 7_16 FISHWIRE) used to thread the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers through the open end of the bumper into the four drilled holes in the aluminum bumper beam. This allows you to route the fasteners without removing the bumper.
Torque the 7/16" fasteners (carriage bolts and flange nuts) to 70 lb.-ft. Torque the M12 fasteners (hex head cap screws) to 86 lb.-ft.
Non-trailer loads can be applied to this hitch, but they must be supported by auxiliary stabilizing straps. Failure to properly support non-trailer loads will void the product warranty.
